Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Use once' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'edges where the elastic is' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Use once' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suspected cause · Original poster

I believe it was caused by the edges where the elastic is that caused the problem, left scratches all over the hood.

Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have a Porsche Silverguard car cover scratch their car like mine does? Are there any car covers out there that don't scratch your car? Larry

POST 2Original post

That's interesting to hear. I was about to buy one from my dealer, Porsche brand. I understand they make 2, which one did you buy, the more expensive one, I believe it goes for about $150? Bruce

POST 3Original post

I have the silver guard cover, hasn't scratched the paint yet. A good portion of the inside of the cover is felt lined, but since I have a cab, the part covering the top is not. Maybe there is some debris caught on the felt that is scratching your paint...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes it's the more expensive one. Seems as though the scratches were caused by the edges of the cover where the elastic is. Had detailed the car and put the cover on. When I took it off the were alot of scratches that were not there before. The cover was only used once when this happened.

POST 5Original post

I've used the same Porsche cover you have for over four years now and have never had a problem. Unless there is a defect of some kind with your cover, I'm guessing that some foreign material got between the cover and the paint. There is nothing on my cover that would cause scratches on the finish.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I believe it was caused by the edges where the elastic is that caused the problem, left scratches all over the hood.
