Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2000 C4. The LED on the key doesn't blink at all even though it used to blink. Tried several different fresh batteries to no avail. Popped the circuit board out and put it back in. Don't know what else to try. Any suggestions? Also, where can I buy the Megamos circuit board that sits inside the the key fob? I want to see if replacing that will fix it. I don't want to drop $150 on a new fob, just need the circuit board where the battery sits. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Mine died recently as well. You can try to touch up the soldering joints and that might help but I didn't have any luck with it. I pulled the trigger on a new fob. I doubt you'll be able to find the circuit board available for purchase, but if you find it be sure to post it up. -Shawn

Or if you can find someone to fix it please post it!

If you can get a new fob and have it programmed for only $150 please let us know how you did it. Best price I have heard of so far is ~ $110 for fob from Sunset and $100 for programming at local dealer. Mine ended up costing me $225 for both. Not sure how a new circuit board is going to help? Are you going to change the components from the old board to the new one? If not what are the odds that the a new assembled board will transmit the same ID code as the old one?

POST 5Original post

fpb111, with a new board he could have it programmed at the dealer to operate the car. So he'd still end up paying the $80-$100 for programming but he'd save the ~$100-$150 for the fob.
