Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Reported cause
Most of that is due to the fact that many here are 1) passionate about their cars, 2) VERY knowledgeable, 3) very opinionated.
Leading evidence: 'fact' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'fact' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So when one of the few skirmishes occurs, we blow off a little steam and then get back to normal, whatever the hell "normal" is abound here.
If I buy the C4S I am looking at the first thing I would want to do would be to put a wing on it. As a boxster owner for the past 7 years I'm really not sure about "wing etiquette" on 996's I don't want to put the wrong wing on the wrong car. What would be the appropriate wing for a C4S? Thanks.
i can't stand the profile view on a 996 sans wing nor the rear view save for the c4s.
go for what u like. here's mine with the misha wing: fitment is spot on and paintability quality as good as oem
We 996 owners are more laid back than you'd think. You can do almost ANYTHING you want to you're car, short of 24's, and it's all good. It's all about you're taste and what YOU like. All we'll do is chime in and give opinions.
Ben's car is one of the best examples of how to do aero RIGHT! He's sold me, for sure!!
Another myth is that 911 owners don't like/respect Boxsters. Quite the contrary, generally most 996 owners have MAD respect for the Boxster S. One of the best roadsters around. I owned a Boxster and a Boxster S myself, so I speak from experience.
PS. Stay away from neon, too!
What Ben said it spot on! Porsche does not recommend adding a rear wing, which will increase the rear downforce, without adding a front splitter to help decrease the "lift" on the front end. Without the front splitter, the front end will get "floaty" at speed.
However, you CAN add a front splitter to reduce the "lift" without adding a rear wing. At least, that is what I have been told.
If the created of this thread isn't interested in your wing for sale please contact me because I would be.
I am in the same boat, I have just purchased a 996 without the areo kit and am looking for what I like currently. I really like the wing and kit on Bens car.
I am always one for doing what "I" feel looks best because after all it is my car and it is my money.
This board seems really fair and respectful. I have been on a lot of German boards for my other vehicles which are far from respectful.
TMAC - On a whole, I have to agree with your statement. However, there are times (not many and not often) when it gets a little heated during some discussions, and some things are written in the heat of the moment. Usually, those issues are quickly resolved and guys "agree to disagree" and move on to the next topic.
