I just bought a 1999 c2, and I am set on the 2002 look with the g2 vent in between the lights...

Do I need to change the headlight trays as well to update to the 2002 look?

Dear friends:
My beloved 2000 996 was involved in minor collission that happened at the Zone 1 Porsche Rally and Concours this weekend. The bumper, both lights and fender need to be replaced.
I was thinking of upgrading to the 2003 headlights and Turbo bumper. Is this possible ? Easy ? any brackets od other mods necessary ?

its not particularily hard to do, especially if you were front ended.
You will need the headlight trays, a new front bumper (duh), the headlights, the wiring harness, and some odd screws and 2 new fenders.

But the front fenders are not damaged. Do I still have to change them out to install the factory front bumper? Do I need to change the headlight trays as well to update to the 2002 look? What else ?

front fenders need 2 be changed..theyr'e different from pre and post 2002. wiring harness and headlight trays also differnt but arn't expensive as i recall.
there's a couple of 16$ screws you need but i dont remember the part numbers.
hopefully someone else will come along and post the list, but everything on the list will have 2 be done, there's no corners to cut here.
If you are already replaving stuff and want the newer look, then go for it..I did...it all bolts up. No one can tell the difference....it gives the front a fresh look.....
