Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Drove out (and back ) to the Hershey swap with Redridge and Chsu today, we had a blast driving! Good time guys, thanks! Never went through so much fuel so fast on the street Hershey seemed a little smaller than usual this year, not quite as many vendors or stuff. I did score nice GT3 Cup splitter for my car...60 bucks! Was planning on getting one anyways. Aerofest! This was Ferds favorite car at the swap Anyone here's car?

POST 2Original post

Nice trip for sure. However, you seem to be developing a case of 'mod' fever...no more internet for you, and stop hanging around people like Ed, Dell and the rest of that crew. Nice score on the GT3 lip though, is it installed yet Marc?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've had the mod fever forever... it's just really bad this year! Got to get the screws to mount from the dealer and than it will be on asap to avoid any abuse!

POST 4Original post

Hey guys, thanks for the try, its great that the day was fun. I like big get togethers, but 2-3 is really fun and easy to stay as a group. I went out with the family (8) in the SUV and did some runnin about.

POST 6Original post

Thanks Marc, for embedding this image in my head. Yeah fun stuff today, havent had that much fun in awhile. great example of why people should just leave factory stuff alone... very different visions of modding thats for sure.

POST 7Original post

That was a fun drive!! Watching the fuel needle drop was a new experiencing. I liked how there was very little LEOs on our road. I like how hard our cars pull in 5th gear.

POST 8Original post

anyone know if this was the real deal? it was for sale but did not have a pa registration sticker on the plate.

POST 10Original post

Yup, a nice show, although I agree it did seem smaller than previous years. Sorry I didn't get to meet up with you guys - things are crazy busy right now and I've not been on RL much this week... it didn't help that I was out on a business trip for the latter part of the week. I was on the look out for a new airbox, but sadly didn't find one.... got lots of nice photos though. Here are some of my favorite cars of the show... I also liked the 959. I assumed that it was original considering that it was entered in the concours.

POST 11Original post

Wayne, We saw you leaving. Did not realize you were going to be there.

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 7512205

Yeah, I'm always there. I was keeping an eye out for you guys (and your cars), but didn't see you. I'm sorry that you saw my disgustingly dirty car, I did park at the back so the noone would see it. ...it got rained on early in the week and was covered in dirt... with me being on a trip I didn't even get a chance to wash it... I got home at 11pm on Friday night.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

was there 2 959's? the red one I saw had a stock mid 80's Carrera interior?

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 7512326

No, probably not. I didn't notice the interior and to be honest have never seen a 959 interior, so would not know the difference.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7512333

959 Interior has console/shifter like a 964/993

POST 16Original post

Some nice pics....But seriously what is with these nubbies???

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 7512369

Ahh, I also didn't think the 959 was street legal over here, is that true?

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 7512395

You can get them converted by Canepa out in California.

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 7512395

All you need is Bill Gate's $$$$ and it will be street legal.

Crying out for a repaint in Rothmans colours and knobbly tires. I spoke to the seller and he said that he questioned his sanity in building it at all.

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Other than the wheels the exterior is well done, even took the drip rails off! nice.

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 7515873

nice, it was very convincing to a novice.

POST 29Original post

I'll stop by Brumos Porsche tomorrow and see if they still have their genuine 959 still on the showroom floor on display. It was there this past weekend. I can tell you that an original, unmolested, 959 has the black and white psychedelic checkered fabric found in 928's of the mid-80's. Brumos's car is totally original, and restored, and has that fabric on the seats. If it is not there, it went back into their museum across the street, so it will return again for viewing eventually. They rotate one or two cars from their collection to the showroom every week or so.

POST 30Original post

Hi guys. I am the owner/builder of the 959 replica. Thanks for the compliments on it. I have the interior to do yet as it is mid 80's carerra as Mark has pointed out. I am just burned out at this point with having almost 1 year in it. Everything was hand fabbed at our shop and I was **** about the details although I never had intentions of fooling anyone. I just wanted to see if I could do it, and how close I could get on a 30,000 budget!

POST 31 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Kevin, it's an amazing job, attention to detail is excellent! Nice to see it belongs to a Rennlister

POST 33Original post

Nice pics and stories guys! Nice mix of cars, too. Thanks for posting up!

POST 34Original post

Quotes source post: 7518790

great job on it. there were a few vultures circling it when i was taking pics.

POST 35Original post

thanks bro. I actually had 13 offers on it that day, as well as a few trade offers, but none that convinced me to part with her.

POST 36Original post

I was very disappointed with the turnout, but it was expected. There weren't any good cars for sale to choose from. I pray whatever dope scheduled it for this weekend, doesn't do it again next easter. This was the only pic that i took.

POST 37Original post

Yes, i wanted to get out to it this year, as it is only 1.5-2 hours away from me. But with a house full of family members from all over the country, leaving was not an option. Hopefully the schedule it a week or two later next year.

POST 39Original post

The pseudo 959 looks great--from these shots of yours (above). Monetarily, it contrasts greatly with what a friend of mine paid just to have his converted to US-Calif usage ($250,000 for the sticker alone!)

POST 40Original post

turnout was not at all good this year...weather was miserable on the way down too. all in all, if it wasn't for spending some time with good rennlist friends, I would not go back.

POST 41Original post

Just got back from Charleston, SC. Took 10 hrs. Would much rather have driven the 996 to Hershey! This makes two years in a row that I've missed Sorry to hear the turnout was light. Hopefully next year!

POST 42Original post

Yeah Hershey sucked this year... small turnout. Still had a great time with the RL friends though.... and the ride home was fun! didnt take much pics either.... My fav car out there... and Marc... this couldve been in your Cayenne and in your garage.

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So bummed I could not make it, father in law has been fighting cancer and wife really wanted to go see him. 5 hour drive to west of Buffalo, NY. That's where I am now. Buy anything cool?

Nice to meet you yesterday What was with that dork in the 4 runner or whatever on 78 that wanted to play sports car?

POST 45Original post

lol, Hopefully it wasn't my wife.......she does her fair share of speeding. She left earlier than you guys did, so i hope it wasn't her.

POST 46Original post

Cool cars and cool event! Love to see these type of gatherings. Thanks for sharing

POST 47Original post

Quotes source post: 8497141

haha, no it was some guy with a 4 runner or sequoia. Thing looked like it was gonna flip half the time, but he had to try to keep up. sigh. some people.

Quotes source post: 8497229

Great meeting you as well.... had a good time! we had to drop off at an exit to get some gas.... thank god he didnt follow (he had CT plates). Everyone was sucking fumes at that point. The suv was scary! We talked about him at the gas station and everyone agreed.... CT SUV drivers are just insane...

POST 49Original post

I know, scary is the word. I was ready to get home and still had plenty of gas (fill ups aren't fun though) so I decided to bail. Anyway, hope you can make the next drive, your car sounded great btw.

POST 50Original post

thanks,... looking forward to the next drive.

POST 52Original post

Thanks Chao! I actually found a friend with a well stocked shop, so I got the bushing shells out, bead blasted them and will press in the new bushings tomorrow. TT should be ready by Wed and will definitely come out for the next drive. Great to meet you!
