Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

The Cleanser removes the protectant, so you'll need to reapply protectant with each washing or spot cleaning for bird bombs.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

NE1 have a recommendation for a product to renew the faded top color? Mine is black. I also have some shinny spots caused during top stowage (I believe). Thanks much

POST 2Original post

It depends how faded the top is. I used Raggtopp (spelling?) - the cleaner and then protectant on mine. I wouldn't describe the original condition as badly faded, but it made a five year old top (when I started using it) look brand new. Two years later, the top still looks great and I have only re-applied twice during this time. It's not very expensive, so I would start there.

POST 3Original post

+ 1 RaggTop is what the dealer sold me. Worked real good on my somewhat faded blue top.

POST 4Original post

What you think is 'fading' is probably dirt. The Raggtopp cleaner will get it out. Then treat with the protectant as BlackCab996 indicated. Great stuff. I've been using it for 6 years.

POST 5Original post

I think you should use the Raggtopp a little more often than once a year if you drive the car frequently. The Cleanser removes the protectant, so you'll need to reapply protectant with each washing or spot cleaning for bird bombs. The Cleanser with an OXO feather tip brush is the only product you should be using to wash the top. This means you should avoid going to automatic car washes (one of the many reasons). Rinse the top with a good amount of pressure and you won't need to wash it as often. Dust is the big culprt in causing rips. I rinse weekly and wash six weeks or so, my car is always parked outside.
