This car is for sale by a local Chrysler Dealer. Supposidly the husband died and the widow is trying to sell the car via the dealership.
2004 C4S convertible with 27K miles They want $61999.00!!
Note Fla Olympic Vanity Plate Any thoughts on real value for this??
Priced way to High!
Don't get me wrong, the car is BEAUTIFUL minus the wheels.
It should be priced at least 15K less and that's if everything checks out perfectly and with a new engine, brakes, clutch! Then we're talking business.
A local subaru dealership here had a 2002 C4S that they were listing for ~$50K. Smoker's car with low maintanence from what I could tell.
I guess this dealership had a look at the Porsche, compared it to the quality vehicles which they're selling, and priced it accordingly. It may be in the dealership's fleet to make a new Chrysler 300 with rich corinthian leather look like a steal at $55K.
And yes, those white wheels...
I went down and took a look at the car today.
The wheels are painted to match the body and have a 1 inch gold strip around the part near the tire.
One of the Mich Pilot Sports has a bubble in it the rest are close to the end.
Must be a Florida thing white with gold trim wheels
Mid 40's with a CPO if it's perfect. Also, the price in the window may just be wishful thinking, setting the psychological price in the buyer's mind, or something nice and high to start the negotiation. When I bought my car, the window price was $8k more than the "internet price", which was itself $5k more than the "internet sale price", which was more than I eventually paid.
You could get better deals by being patient and looking on Rennlist for-sale section. This
2001 996 turbo for $41k
with reasonable miles, a few decent mods, service records, and extra wheels has made me wonder if prices fell abruptly while I wasn't looking.
OK I asked for and got the service records on this car. looks like it had a Porsche/refub engine replacement done 2 yrs 6K miles ago due to IMS failure.
Does this change anybodys opinion price wise??
Walk or Run??
^ That was someone else footing that engine replacement bill. I am sure the dealer gave nothing on that trade in so why should you give any money towards it.
You can also use that as a negative saying that the IMS bearing can no longer be replaced. Only the IMS seal can be removed for extra lubrication.
If they make good on the tire and PPI looks good, then go for it.
Replacement engine is no reason to run. At worst, it may still need to have the LNEngineering IMS bearing upgrade.
Whatever you pay for it, remember that as long as the engine is an M96 derivative, you will still eventually have to deal with the usual stuff. Perhaps the selling dealership will provide a 100k warranty.
Still, the price is pretty dear. Price reflects that they are fishing for a clueless buyer.
