Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

No, still leaking

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I am curious to learn how effective the RMS repair is. I have also included an option if your RMS has never failed. Thanks for participating! 1. Yes, 1 repair only 2. Yes, 2 repairs to fix 3. Yes, 3 or more repairs to fix 4. New engine 5. No, still leaking 6. No RMS problem

POST 2Original post

Had it done last November. It's still leaking. Going in to have it done again on 20th. First one was done under good will but I had to contribute 230. This one will be done under warranty (failed 1st attempt). I haven't a clue where I will stand if they say it needs a new engine.

POST 3Original post

Technically had one RMS repair early on but switched to new updated seals even though it didn't leak. Leaked at around 9k miles. Car has about 39k miles. You may want to also put a survey on cam cover leak as well-happened one time at around 20 k miles. My car is a 99 996. Regards. Mike
