This is not a probability of success.

If your set on a ragtop, my personal preference would be to get a c4s cab which I think will become a very limited item if the predictions of a new body style coming out in only 8 months.

After searching for over three months, I found the 996 for me, I first started looking for a 996 C2 with a aero package, then I came across a 03 Targa, Test drove it and feel in love.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would value the opinion of my fellow rennlisters before I make a commitment on this car. The best I've been able to negotiate is $68K even. Is this decent? Here's the specs: 2002 C4 Cabriolet 6 speed manual partial leather heated seats, power seats, memory seat Bose stereo, 6 CD changer PSM 18" Carrera wheels Advance Techic Package Black Mats Artic Silver Metallic Paint

POST 2Original post

You left out a very important number: How many miles does it have on it?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh yeah. it has 7000 miles on it.

POST 4Original post

another 15k would get you a nice preowned turbo... may be reasonable if its porsche certified. when I buy a car I look at the oldest car with the same body style I want and look at the sale prices of those to help calculate my depreciations. cars are never good investments and unless you have loads of cash its smart to hang on to a car for several years. If your set on a ragtop, my personal preference would be to get a c4s cab which I think will become a very limited item if the predictions of a new body style coming out in only 8 months. that always drops the price more. anyway if you fall in love with the car, go for it and enjoy. Good luck.

POST 5Original post

After searching for over three months, I found the 996 for me, I first started looking for a 996 C2 with a aero package, then I came across a 03 Targa, Test drove it and feel in love. Since the High End Sports Car market is soft, the deals are plenty - I say go for it and enjoy. Best Of Luck.,,

POST 6Original post

I just picked up an '02 C4 Cab, Lapis Blue/Graphite Grey, but it had slightly higher mileage - 27K. The original sticker on the car was $103K - pretty loaded, plus it has Lojack. It is certified and my final price was $66.5K. So I would say that you are in the ball park...

POST 7Original post

it might be a little high, but it is not a crazy price. you might be able to do 3 or 4 grand better.
