Much to my suprise, most of the resonance that came with the Fabspeed bypass pipes went away after I installed the K&N series 63 CAI.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Much to my suprise, most of the resonance that came with the Fabspeed bypass pipes went away after I installed the K&N series 63 CAI. Prior to the K&N install I had a lot of resonance at freeway crusing speeds, but that has now almost completely gone away. Don't get me wrong, the pipes are still very loud, but that's OK, the part I really hated was the resonance. Anyone else out there had a similar experience?

POST 4Original post

I just returned from 2 long trips(4000 miles) and I have the Fabspeed cat back system also and I know exactly what you mean about the resonance-from about 3000 rpm on up and thats where I like to drive on long trips. I'm trying to understand why the addition of the K & N system would have effect on the exhaust resonance. Does anyone on the forum have an explanation?? I'll purchase the K & N if it diminished the resonance but it'd be nice to know the technical side of it. I love the sound of the Fabspeeds but they can get pretty obnoxious. How difficult was the K & N to install?? Thanks, Roger B.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It was pretty easy, figure and hour or two for the whole project. If you're ever in SoCal let me know and you can take it for a spin and hear what it sounds like now.
