I'll try that this Saturday after I try and find the Plexus recommended by Fast40th.

I thought about using a bug tar removal, but before doing something that would potentially make it worse, I thought I get others opinions.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was hoping someone could help me with this one. I put Meguiar's Gold Class Tire Protectant Gel on my tires. Apparently the stuff came off when driving and splattered on the sides of the car and wheels. They were small black dots that came off with a little elbox grease when I washed it.
However, the black splatters turned into faint yellow dots on the 3M clear bra. No amount of elbow grease could get this out. It looks like crap.

Try Plexus clear plastic cleaner and polish. And if that doesn't work there may be a chance that sun exposure could "bleach" the spots. That's what happened to a section on my car's front bumper bra section. It got stained with bug guts, Plexus did not remove them but eventually exposure to the sun took care of the stains in a matter of days.
Best of luck!
Pete,
Are you sure it's the tire gel and not road tar? I recently picked up some fresh tar on the front fender of my light-colored 4Runner. By the time I was able to clean the drops and splatters off, the tar had permanently stained the paint (in the same manner you descibe). I tried every combination of bug & tar remover, followed by paint cleaner, polish, etc. I think the tar was on the paint for two days.

I'm positive it was the gel and not road tar. It came right off from the paint. I'm hoping this is temporary. Since the car is a weekend car and sits in the garage all week, I havent' seen if it will fade in the sun. I'll try that this Saturday after I try and find the Plexus recommended by Fast40th.
agreed, Plexus, and then let sit in the sun, it should work itself out, Clear Bra is very, very resilient. Worse case scenario, get that section re-done, after all, it is doing it's job and protecting the paint....... my .02
M3Pete: A lot of web retailers carry Plexus (do a search). And locally you can find it at your nearest airport... Plexus is commonly used to clean, polish and protect small plane and helicopter windows. I've seen it for sale at flight school/plane rental places.
Cheers.
