Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I imagine you could - with the lift it was good to kind of stand out of the way while using the pressure washer.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Today was the day to take the snow tires off. While I had the car on the lift, I saw that it was pretty grimy and salty in places I can't normally rinse out... so I removed all the under-tray panels, broke out the pressure washer, donned a rain coat and some goggles, and
washed the underside of the car!!
What a mess!
I bet 5 lbs of dirt, sand and general grime came out!
(Luckily, other than a bunch of mud on the floor, it didn't make too much of a mess in the garage.)
Now to let it drip dry and put the summer tires on tomorrow.
Okay, it is now official, Winter is over!!! (even though we had a 1/2" of snow on the lawn yesterday). Thnakx, Van, looking forward to Spring, now that it is on its way. See you at C&S.
Van, is that something that
anyone
can do? I don't have a lift but could a normal person like me get under the car with a scrub brush and hose, take of the undercarriage cover, and rinse away? I worry I would destroy something in the process. Worth doing once a year?
I imagine you could - with the lift it was good to kind of stand out of the way while using the pressure washer. There isn't much to "destroy" though.
I'm glad I did it, although I'm not sure I'd call it a "necessity" - more just the satisfaction of going "beyond the call of duty".
Pics of the car, the under trays, and one of many dustpans for dirt:
Very nice job, but as soon as you drive in the next rainstorm, you'll wind up in the same place (maybe not as bad)!
PS--Nice 944 in the background!! They look great with 17" twists!
Yeah, that's OK. I mainly wanted to wash off salt that might have gotten in hard-to-reach areas. And, to be honest, I'd never taken the under trays off before, so I was curious to see what it looked like.
Ferd, a lot of crap came down from above the mufflers and the cylinder head/valve cover areas. Also a bit on and around the transmission. There was also a bit on top of the under trays.
