well give me a couple of weeks given my recent run-ins with the Goose.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I've been trying to become a friendlier, gentler Rennlist dude (work in progress) and in this spirit, I'd love to put a face to the aliases as I think it'd help to build a better sense of community amongst us all. Along the same vein, I'd like to apologize for my attitude and harshness in the past. I recognize my shortcomings and hope to make positive change moving forward. Sorry.
And it's kinda weird that given how much I engage in dialogue with some of you, I wouldn't have a clue if I ever ran across you guys at a cafe, a restaurant, club drive, a game, whatever.
My new avatar is me, my ugly mug in all its pixelized glory. Yours doesn't have to be a headshot, but something we can recognize you by and say hello with some semblance of confidence if we are ever to grab a beer and talk shop someday.
The real Ben last Friday nite either drank too much or was given a bad shot of chilled vodka... spent a part of Saturday getting a motherly grilling by an urgent care nurse about excessive drinking, got a bit of a ribbing from the ER doc, and am on the mend right now with a new appreciation for life. Doc says it was alcohol poisoning, I say it was the couple sips of vodka that smelled funny.
Who knows how long this positivity will last.
Just kidding. Really, I do want to be a better guy here and grow up a bit. Like the nurse said, I gotta act grown cuz I ain't 21 anymore. No more excuses left. LOL
Man, WTF?
No more raw edgy tell it like it is all eyez on me go big or go home thug C-unit pimp player?
I hope this place doesn't get to boring....
Might be forced to step up my game to the next level to counter act.
A little "softer" I guess is fine, if you have to, but don't be getting to carried away and become one of those sensitive men.
Rennlist has plenty of that crap.
Don't let those "he should not say it that way, he is rude and nagative blah blah" guys get in your head.
Will hang w/you regardless, you know, but please...
Go listen to some 2 Pac, get some rest bro
WARNING TO ALL RENNLISTERS:
It has come to our attention that Ben's account got hacked. Some one claiming to be Ben is posting on the board. We suggest that you tread on this one rather carefully.
We will keep everyone tuned as events further unfold. Till the true Ben stands-up, you are welcome to be as rude to this "poser" as you would want.
UC, very nice.
Chad, how the heck do you drive a 911? That's amazing commitment.
It's good to put faces to the names. I think it's healthy.
This whole hiding behind the alias thing is... so dated, so air-cooled!
chris, those pics remind me of a trip to Nevis. Killer Bees.... The drink looks different but the face is the same. If anybody out there gets a chance a great place to relax. More monkeys than people and lots of fruit punch...
well done married fellas, you guys have taken care of more important matters with aplomb.
good taste in cars, good taste in wives i see. good good. more respect to ya cuz damn they need to deal with your porsche addiction! LOLOLOL
Ben,
If that's your real name; good on you! I knew behind the all wannabe gangsta at the mall crap there was a decent guy of substance
Having said that, I did just read your last post in the tire thread. He had it coming!
I like the new pic way better than the arms crossed, tat showing, Dodger cap one you had before.
In the spirit of this thread a couple of pics, one of me at work and one in my natural habitat which I would kill to have as my work.
Good thread Ben.
Cheers,Stan

good to have a new friend to put a face to the name, stan. thx for it.
but i am that wannabe gangster as well. i do dress like that at times as it's comfortable but do put on suits and ties with spread/french collars when the occasion calls for it. i wear a gucci belt with the full print sometimes.
and i'm totally comfortable in all of the above. and i've always stated that this is my real name. i'm not hiding behind anything,
"judge not that ye be not judged" -abe L
Thanks for face to the name, MF!
Technology's great, but not at the expense of real human interaction. I mean sure there's some measure of privacy we all want to keep, but given how much time I spend on here, I figured it's timely and appropriate to get our mugs out there! You guys are real people (photo evidence) and real people who love real cars like the 911 deserve real respect.
Ben, nice post brother. Next time I'm in Seattle I'll have to look you up and maybe we can get a Brew and talk cars. Here is me and my wife. I'm a lucky guy that's for sure. She has a great heart and is a great person all around
Holy Cow! If this is the real Ben and has not been hacked, then I might have to take him off my ignore list.
Gotta give you a pat on the back for this one dude.
I'll post a photo later.
Will the real BenC please stand up, please stand up
I need some time Wellardmac.
I'll have him back in your ignore list before you know it, I just need a little more fn' time please
WHAHAHAHHAHAHA LS, you know I'm the same dude. WAHAHHAHAHAHA
And for all you Ben Choi ignore/hater list guys, keep me on there! That's why I posted this at this time cuz I thought you'd already have me on ignore! That was my grand master plan yo LOL
Hey B Chizzle....I've had my bouts with the booze as well, but never in the hospital over it. Glad all is well bud. I don't have any pictures handy so I snapped this with my phone. Keeping this on topic with some car stuff in the background...haha.
Stay gold Pony.
A few years back...Starting point on Grasshopper pass. A section of the Pacific Crest Trail, runs from Mexico to Canada. Cascade Mountains, in the great NW!
A few miles into the trail...
Here I am with GULF V1 the project that keeps on taking and has not given yet! And my wife working on it also..amazing women the only one I know that can install a Supercharger, if she had to. Still will not give up her AAA card though.

Being an NY-LA dude, I knew you'd be stylin' my man.
Nice to meet you finally. Thanks for engaging in a PM with me along the LA move front. I really appreciate that and hopefully we can party it up in W. Hollywood sometime this year.
dfc, lazer, brand, jon - great meeting you guys. seriously this is very cool and i'm really glad you guys decided to add your mug. it's not an easy thing to do, but i'm really hoping this makes this place a little more real to people. knowing someone's face is so important.
belcarrera, def hit me up if you're ever in town. any of you in fact. i'd be glad to chug down a beer or two... well give me a couple of weeks given my recent run-ins with the Goose. pls understand!
is that a submariner i see on the wrist miller?
i've been to kc before and i must say the best bbq i've had was at jack's bbq on the kansas side i believe. cheesy corn was awesome and so was this london cut bbq can't remember exactly. otherwise, i could never live there.
Will do!! First round is on me bro. We'll do it right though, chill, kick back and solve the worlds problems.....Used to make it up there more often, one of my college buddies lived in Bellevue but moved back to Sac last year. I have a funny but true story...Me, the wife, my bud and his wife are in a bar hanging out around mid Dec in Seattle and the waitress says to me "You aren't from around here are you?" I say "No. Why?", she says "It's mid Dec and you don't look pasty".
Man it rains a lot in Seattle don't it!!
-Ernesto
Yes it does, but hey something's gotta give with all this natural beauty that surrounds us here. I'm trying bust down to LA actually sometime soon.
My buddy from back when I used to work for Arthur Andersen outta college ... his family owns what's called the Lucas winery down in Lodi. He does this annual winery party. Maybe you guys wanna come?
Anyways, we've still got a couple months left. it's great fun, though again, I'm trying to ease up on the alcohol. we'll see how long this lasts.
That's 100% true. I always said the Seattle area is one of the most beautiful places I've seen and all due to the rain that's for sure. We'd definitely be up for the Lucas winery! No worries on easing up on the alcohol I can understand that. Back in college I'd finish a small bottle of tequila in one night no joke!!! Those days are done for sure. I like my drink but nothing overboard anymore. Comes with age I guess. Not that I'm old (36) but that's how it should be.
-Ernesto
Chad - I just saw your picture. We met briefly when I was living in Roswell, GA and owned a red 951 (I loved that car!). You had just bought your 968. We were both at a PCA event at Andretti's indoor cart tracks and you blew everyone away - you lapped me several times that night.
You have a beautiful 996.
Bob
you're a good man, roto. i wish i could call this gutsy, but really, it's nothiing like that. not even close.
all i'm trying to do is rally the troops by putting faces to the alias. very simple yet not. certainly helps me to level-set right quick. speak to others like they're compadres not computer icons. i've always known this, but just trying to make it fun as well. i've grown to care about this place and some of the people. hopefully more as people open up. LOL
adorable daughter from what i can make out of the photo on the wall!
Hi Bob, I remember that night!
Whew! Great memory - that was quite awhile ago. FWIW - I loved that 968. Great car. Thanks for the compliments on the 996. Ditto my friend. If you are ever back in the Atlanta area again, look me up. Beer's on me.
C.
Thanks, Chad! I'll take you up on that invitation in the not-to-distant future. Any chance you'll be coming to Porsche Parade? If so, we could get together there.
Bob
Here you go Ben. Me and my "porch". I know it is the wrong color.
PS: One thing I do not do is post pictures of myself on the internet. I would rather meet in person and have a good laugh over a drink or two.
Call me silly or **** but I have no issues in meeting you all in person.
Ben,
Wow! This is a surprise. I go out of the country for a 2 day business trip and see this thread this morning. I hope you come to realize that life should have a little bit of drama and revert back to your old self at least a littl bit when you feel better.
For what its worth; here is a pic of me and my fiancee.
Thanks Ben. I am not getting any younger and when you get there you will just know and feel it.
I knew she was the one when I asked her what car she is going to buy me when she finishes med school. She said, "A Yellow Ferrari with Black interior."
Now, why would I let her go?
my best friend is in residency. i am somewhat aware of how much commitment it takes to become a doctor. you essentially give-up most, no all of your 20s/30s.... but with that you get to be a DOCTOR. i think that's pretty noble. not for me, but i got mad respect.
it's good that you got your 911 and u know what i'm talking about. good luck with it all. now if she said i really like the rear strakes, it completes the aerokit... that'd be CRAZY. LOL
OK, here is a pic of my big head, the only pic I have handy at work.
Thats Henry my GSP at about 3 weeks old, he is now 68lbs.
Also, a pic of my Daughter Rachel, she is 1 this month!
Ben must have some evil planned after he collects all these pictures!!
WHAHAHAHA Marc, what a cute pic. Feisty like the father? Nice, dog, too. I love dogs. I'd actually love to have a toy poodle. I just can't give it the love and attn it deserves right now in my life else I'd have one and name it Jigga.
She is not a car person but knows that I love cars. She made a comment about the 911 one time, "How come most of the 911s are not as pretty as yours?" It was enough for me.
Great idea for a post Ben (or whoever you are)!! I'll get a pic up ASAP. To be honest, I'm going to miss the brutally honest Ben.
"the truth will set you free...but 1st, it will **** you off!!!"
You've always been trying to say the truth as you see it. Very Admirable!
Pic to come
I'll start w/a pic of my "better half". Just think of the hunk of a man that could get her to marry them, and that's me.
I know, I know. I'm just biding time till I can find a pic...
rob you look a lot younger than i thought! beautiful wife.
pat, hey man, this isn't myspace.com. sorry to say but i don't think rennlist draws too many beautiful women so safe to say all that we're getting out of this is familiarity and thru this hopefully a better, stronger, tighter knit community.
it's a complete sausage fest
beautiful wife as well.
really good job you guys are doing pulling down them wives. well done!
I love my C4S, but the one thing I love more is skiing:
Head shot at about 11,000 ft. between the Middle Teton and Cloudviel.
Traversing a 70 degree couloir to get to some easier (55 degree) skiing!
-And people question why I got a C4S?!?!?
Your pic matches your name
Where the hell in NY do you get to ride "free"?
Cool pic, they have one of those old timey picture places at a local theme park
You look like uber Paully Junior from American Chopper.........
I remember you rollin' down 1604, nice aero
Cute kid!
HAHAHA, I didnt even think of that when I wrote it..........
Hey Scott, it seems you've the same family size and kids in almost the same age (ours are: 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 6 months). Only problem with 3 kids is that they don't all fit in the 911 - so the wife needs to stay home
.
Here's me and my gang:
Great to meet you, hwk and family.
I'm definitely enjoying this thread. I feel a stronger bond with those I can put a face to. I think I need a tissue.
Hey Hwk72, great looking family you have there...and that little one is clearly going to be a linebacker! Mine are currently 6, almost 4, and 7 months. This means I own three, count them three, porsche car seats. You should see the looks we get when we all peel out of the car together (without mom)...its like the old clowns out of a vw bit, I love it.
Ben- I know of Scott McCartney, but not personally. Are you aware of his life-threatening crash coming into the finish at the Hannenkahm this year? He's lucky to be alive.
I agree w/ the positive comments on this thread- great way to get to broaden our interests.
Nah, not since high school. Are Korean friends special?
I'm not fond of taking pictures by myself, most of mine are with women in swimsuits but this one seems suitable. Guess which one is me.
LOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOL
Of all the people in this forum, I'm the most vulnerable since I have pics and info of me ad nauseum.
i think those who voluntarily posted
pics of themselves with and without loved ones believe with me that it's good to put a face to the name so as to build a better, stronger more real community.
hey pat do you guys have a really cool daughter in her early 20s or anything.... maybe guys had kids early or something... cuz my dream is to have a father in law who's really into cars and if it's porsche 911s... man, a match made in heaven!!!!
LOL j/k
Sorry Ben, it's an all boy family with the exception of the Teacup Poodle. I'm sure you make a great son-inlaw!!
I've got 1 child and 3 stepchildren. Only 1 shows any interest in cars unless it's on X-Box.
Don't give a rat's **** about whatever descent and if those VW commercials mean anything, them Germans ain't sounding too manly.
And for you MG, here's my manly dog, Jake
Look at that dog. LOLLLOOLOL Very cute. What do you do in D.C.? Big fan of that town, especially loved the Georgetown area. Very diff feel than the West Coast. People seem more intense/conservative.
I'm one of 'those' adverse to posting personal pics on the net. But here's a couple of my 8 yr old kid, Jason, learning dad's all time favorite past time... Sorry for the $hitty pics. I'm the bloated seal on the right of course.
2003 C2 Seal Gray 'Bone Stock'
I will be 39 in December, so I am older than I look. My daughter will be 17 in a few months, which also catches people off guard. If I haven't shaven for a few days, I have plenty of gray hair in my beard that gives the truth away, but clean shaven I can pass for one of you young bucks.
I had a lot of fun looking at all of your pictures, so I'm joining in. I don't post very often, but maybe I'll start. Here's my wife and I at Grimaldi's Pizza on a recent trip to NYC. I highly recommend their pizza. Best ever, hands down.
Grimaldis Pizza small.jpg
If by "real" you mean eats and poops alot you are correct! Thank heavens for the pet scoopers
But all said this Dane is the best dog I have ever had. I think I am sold on the breed
rob, good to meet you and glad to put face to the name, but i was talking about the other rob (Rob in WA).
i don't think i've you've had the pleasure or likely pain of engaging with me in a thread until today.
palting, i'm so glad you posted pics of you and fam. i remember 1.5 years ago+ how i saw pics of your c4s in your sig and thought damn he's got good taste is nad obviously enjoying the track life... fast forward to today... that's just wonderful to know a fellow c4s lover also looks to be a standout husband/father!!!!
this is awesome.
He eats about 2-3 times a day but doesnt seem to be overeating or anything. I have just never had a dog that eats and grows this fast. He went from 40lbs to 80lbs in about 6 weeks and the vet stated that he will be about 170-180 when he is full grown. Pretty cool really
Very cute, but Ray you're like one of the people I most wanted to a put a face to the name! Else how the heck am I gonna recognize you when I visit Chicago for work?
I already posted above, but I came across this one and had to post again. This is a pic of the wife and two of the three kids when the brother-in-law brought over his new cayman to show off. I love the look on my little guy's face! He's going to be a porsche nut for sure!
Well, if he can afford that kind of passion, that would be fine with me. I love porsche, but I will not lie and say that if I had the funds I wouldn't also be a ferrari nut!
When I was young I always wanted a Ferrari (inspired by Magnum). Later I had 2 low budget Italian cars (other than that only German products) and found out that I rather want a technical masterpiece that's reliable than a diva; so my passion with a car comes more with satisfaction due to perfection than with emotions. Today I'd take a 997 GT3 or a CGT over any F car.
Oh but I have read a lot of your posts. You actually remind me a lot of myself when I was in my 20's (except I didn't have a P-car then). There is nothing wrong with being passionate about things, and direct with your words. However, there is a wrong time and a right time to unleash it. Do it all of the time and you are the "boy who cried wolf" and labelled a troublemaker or a troll. But saved for the right time and the right situation it can help you inspire people to great deeds. Unfortunately it took me until well into my 30's to figure that out. I am sure you will grasp that earlier than me, and use it to your advantage. Perhaps this thread is the start of it.
Just my $.02,
Rob
me too! My friends has an older Ferrari and it is not even close to what I would call reliable- love to look at them however and totally see why people fall in love with them.
I kind of followed the same path. I vividly remember seeing my first 308 GTsi when I was in college, and falling hopelessly in love. For years, I had a beautiful model of an F40 on my desk, a car I worshipped, ironically, because of the statement Enzo was making to Porsche about what a real sports car is (versus the 959, which Ferrari thought was too easy to drive to be the real thing). Now here I am. I confess, it was many years before I really 'got' Porsches. Now, it's the zeal of the convert, of course...
It's been great to see all the faces that go with the cars (thanks Ben).
But I have one question: Where the hell is Tim???? The PPTFP, the dread to to "picless" (I know not a word, but it's like truthiness) newbies... He bettter post a $%#%^ pic. lol
He's also losing the 996, so he probably going through one of the five stages of loss
The stages are:
Denial: "It can't be happening, I'll never lose this car"
Anger: "Why me? It's not fair."
Bargaining: "At least I can see pics by forcing Newbies to post"
Depression: "I'm so sad, why bother with anything? I can't handle even opening Rennlist"
Acceptance: "It's going to be OK. I need to get another P-Car"
Well, Ben, here is some Northwest flavor for you. At the wheel of my other money sink, in the Broughton Archipelago near the Queen Charlotte Straits. By the way, the engine in the sailboat can be a real PITA as well.
Bill

Run for office? I didn't think I looked THAT untrustworthy!
Wayne, you should smile like this
BTW - nice looking boy you have there! He obviously takes after his mother!
Ray, that is great! :rolfmao:
I prefer to roll all of those into one phrase:
!@#$%^&* and !@^&*&^!$ another!@#$%^&*( Porsche! And on top of that !@#$^&*( the &^%@#% Newbies!
There, I think I covered everything!
GH - your admonishment was completely called for and entirely in order! Touche! I love it!
All of my pics were in the computer in NC, so I couldn't post them until I got back home this weekend.
Yup, he has my personality and his mother's looks - not sure how a redhead could generate such a blonde kid.... my wife said that she used to be as fair as he is, so I guess that explains it.
