Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any recommendations on independent shops for a brake job in the LA area? How much for pads v. pads & rotors? My 01 C2 with 32k is squeaking in the right front wheel. Just started happening a few days ago but no wear indicator light . . . thanks!

POST 2Original post

FIrst question is do you want to do this yourself or pay somebody to this easy DIY task?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If it's that easy, would love to DIY. I'm sure I can search the board for step-by-step instructions . . . thanks

POST 5Original post

I just replaced the front rotors and pads of my '99 last weekend. I had the Porsche Technical Manual, an Excellence article on brake replacement, and my car-savy Dad to help me out. It took 3 hours and was a great experience. I definitely wouldn't pay somebody else to do it for me if I were you.
