This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The Auto-X board traffic is lite so I thought I'd ask here since the handling should be similiar. I just bought a 996TT and wondered if anyone has set up one to Auto-X or run at a tight R R venue such as Streets of Willow?. The car runs in ASP at SCCA events so suspension is effectively unlimited as to shocks, springs, sway bars, camber, caster and toe settings. I hope to get the car out in the next two weeks at a San Diego event. On tight turns on the street (Can't really drive it hard on the street) ) it seems to push a little. Some of this may just be dirving style. Also, the current rear tires are 19/315's with 235's on the front which don't help. I'll be using 8.5/18's and 11/18's width rims with R compound tires. This car will take a bit of work to get "dialed" in. I'm use to rear wheel drive cars with about the same lowend torque which are easy to rotate. Also, If anyone has Greg Fordahl's Tel # would you e-mail it to me. Have Fun! Steve

I do. Won my class last year. Got soundly beat by a 944 this year . It does push on real tight turns if you go WOT too early. But, you can modulate the gas to get some turn-in assistance with the AWD around the turn. If done right, you can even get the back to step out and get a relative oversteer. Overall not the best car for autocross. Its powerfull but heavy. It takes too much work and finesse to get it right. Best to get a lighter car, as you proably already know. The 996TT and C4S do much better on the real tracks. There you can beat the c*** out of any 944. That's how I got my revenge out of that 944 .

POST 6Original post

I took my C4S to the NNJ event at Meadowlands in September. Only my 2nd Auto-X ever and the first in the porker but I managed 2nd place in the novice class which I was pleased with. The car was a lot of fun to run. I kept it simple that time - left the PSM switched on - but I will try it without next time to see what difference it makes..
