Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Fellow 996 drivers, I have a 996 from 99, convertible, and when turning on my ventilator in my car, I hear a loud noice. It almost sounds as if something is stuck there, or if the bearing has gone bad. Has anybody experience the something similar? Comments please Marcel

By ventilator do you mean your A/C? If so does it change with fan speed? Sometimes the foam on the fresh air inlet flap can come off and fall into the blower fan housing and hit the fan. A quick way to check is to open the hood and remove the cover on the passenger side of the battery with a T25 screwdriver and remove the pollen filter. Shine a flash light down in there and see if you can see anything.
