Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought I would ask you guys anyways. I have a tiptronic transition with almost 47k miles on it. While accelerating at a moderate pace I change gears at 4.5 - 6k rpms without any problems. If I am cruising in 2nd at a steady rpm around 3 - 4k rpms and then I try to switch into 3rd gear there is a noticable lag time before it finally ends up in 3rd. This issue only happens between 2nd and 3rd gear. It seems to me the clutch is starting to go. What are your thoughts? What can I expect to spend? Thank you.

POST 2Original post

When I first got mine, I kinda noticed a similar lag. But I've since learned to time the shift better and lift off the gas a bit (kinda like when driving with a real clutch and manual shifter). Must admit that my shifts are much smoother and with less laggy symptoms between 2nd and 3rd. But am hoping the slight lag is normal. Haven't seen you on PCH yet with the dual carseats! One of these days!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the reply. I will watch it and see if it gets worse. Me and the girls went out Saturday once in the morning and once in the afternoon. What an unbelievable day Saturday was. Perfect day for a convertible!

POST 4Original post

Timing is off. Saturday AM I drove my daughter down PCH to her friend's house near Fashion Island. Picked her up just before dinner. Did the pseudo-cabriolet thing.... all windows and the sunroof open. haha ...yep, was just a beautiful day! Hopefully the lag doesn't get worse. Keep us posted.
