Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used 2 since I needed it for the 2 doors I have.
Leading evidence: 'Use 2 since i needed it' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use 2 since i needed it' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2003 996 Carrera that just recently had its warranty expire so I am now looking to modify. It has Fabspeed Sports Exhaust already and it sounds ok but i want more. I have have thought about the Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes but after reading here it seems to lessen performance which i certainly dont want. So, am now thinking EVOMS cold air intake and possible a short shifter?
What do u guys out there think of this? Thanks.....
OK here is a starter list:
B&M Short Shifter.
Aluminum Gauge Rings.
Aluminum Pedals.
Stock 3.6L muffler PSE Mod.
Spoiler Switch installed in Horseshoe.
Garage Door Opener Switch installed in Horseshoe.
Remove the "idiot stickers" from your sun visors.
Paint the Brake Calipers Red.
Paint "top hats" Silver.
Suspension - ROW M030 or X74 or PSS9
MK II side skirts.
When you're finished with those mods, let me know and I will give you "page 2."
The one's Tim listed are mostly the high bang for buck mods. That's why I've done many of them
After you've completed those you can start spending some real money on bumpers, wings, wheels, and any performance mods you may want to chase/.
Thanks so much for the response. I would love to do every one of those in your list but my concern is that i am not very handy and certainly dont want to risk harm to my 996. How difficult is the short shift install and the garage opener on the horseshoe for instance? Those two and the EVOMS Cold air intake would be perfect i think but not sure i can install them?
Alex, I had NEVER done anything like that to any of my cars before I owned the 996.
The B&M Short Shifter install will take you about 2.0 to 2.5 hours. After you do it onece, you could do it in about 1.5 hours. The garage door opener is about a 1.0 hours job an pretty easy. There are some threads that cover both installs.
to make the garage door install easilier, you can locate it on the 4 buttons on the rear console, instead of the shoehorn. I used 2 since I needed it for the 2 doors I have. You can do this mod along side with your SSK install.
