When I had my V1 installed, we ran the wire from the main unit between the headliner and roof (just wedge it in with a plastic spatula).

Suggestion

I didn't want to remove the a pillar trim (these cars have enough squeaks), so at the point where the front of the headliner meets the a pillar, we fished the wire between the a pillar trim and roof without removing the trim, then we removed part of the drivers door weatherstripping and ran the wire down to the fuse panel, and covered it with the weatherstripping (careful of the glue gunk on the weatherstripping--it's hard to remove if you get it on anything).

Just run the wires through the back of the dash to the fuse panel - piece of cake.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will be hard wiring a V1 into my 04 C2 this weekend. Looking for information on removing the "A" piller trim to run the wire down to the remote display and power. Any pointers on picking up switched power near the center of the dash would be appreciated. I figured since I was running the remote display wire I might as well put the hard wire power supply in an area that had more room then picking up the power from the overhead panel. Any suggestion/ideas greatly appreciated.... Dave

POST 2Original post

Just run the wires through the back of the dash to the fuse panel - piece of cake. The a-pillar snaps on/off. Just pull on it and don't be afraid. Goes right back on the same way. Pop it.

When I had my V1 installed, we ran the wire from the main unit between the headliner and roof (just wedge it in with a plastic spatula). Tapped into a switched power source at the fuse panel. Remove the black plastic fuse panel cover, then remove the carpeting piece after removing 4 screws. Installed the concealed display on the steering column.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
