Maybe best to take it there and have them diagnose, or recommend another wheel size.
Recommend on 99s...maybe someone else can chime in

I don't think that 19s are recommended on 99s...maybe someone else can chime in with concrete information.

I had two sets on my 330Ci, and one set on my 944T.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It had a slight shimmy when I bought it, but with two new fronts and an alignment, it cured it completely.
Hey, Guys. I just installed a new set of wheels and tires on my 99 C2. I had 17s with Sport Cont. 2s when I bought the car. It had a slight shimmy when I bought it, but with two new fronts and an alignment, it cured it completely. Now with the 19s it's back more than ever. I wonder, would another alignment with these wheels solve it, or does the larger size exasperate a suspension problem? Gonna have to put the 17s back on until I figure it out. Thanks. JOE
Well.. tires were ?professionally? mounted and balanced. Doubtful on the machine you listed. A well known P-car shop (Momentum) here in BHAM has the Hunter. Maybe best to take it there and have them diagnose, or recommend another wheel size.
Sounds like the wheels are out of balance. I'd put money on it (if I were a bettin' man, that is). It's amazing what some tire guys will call "balanced" these days.
Yep. Technician says front wheels over 72 grams out of balance. That's about 2.5 oz, to you and me. Smooth like buttah now. Think I should take the bill over to Big 10 and demand a refund?
I'd ask for a refund of the balance charge.
Btw, I've got ES 100's on the 996 and I have to say I'm not a big fan of them. Their grip seems OK but they are loud as he11 on the road. I've got S03's on my '84 and those tires are much quieter than the ES 100's.
