Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

A thorough PPI will take three hours or more depending upon the model and must include wheels-off inspection for accident repair, paint-thickness tests, leak-down and driving, verification of service history, OBD codes as well as checking for special items such as valves on early cars, recalls on later model cars and known problems on specific models.
Leading evidence: 'Check thouroughly' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is '"supply leather" option' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check special items such as valves' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Looks like the CD changer was replaced, as the changer mount is still present, but unoccupied.

The fluffy seats are probably the "supply leather" option.

The pic below is supple leather, which, BTW, are VERY conefortable and are easier to clean than the standard leather seats.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

You can ONLY get the CPO from buying a car from a Porsche dealer and they CPO the car.....or.....you can get it from a private party one of two ways (1) the car was already a CPO when the private partive selling the car purchased it used from a Porsche dealer that CPO'd the car and can then transfer the CPO to you when you do a private party transaction...or (2) if the private party selling the car has (or you) a great relationship with the local Porsche dealer you can have them act as a "pass-thru" and CPO the car for you.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What do you guys think of this C4S on ebay? A couple of questions, I know full leather comes standard on the C4S but I've seen two different types of leather seats, the tight stitched seats and the loose, "fluffy" seats which one is the more expensive option? Also since someone else brought this up on the board, how do you know if the lights are litronic just based on looking at a picture of the headlamps? Is there an external difference? Thanks!

The fluffy seats are probably the "supply leather" option. More luxury, thats all. Some folks like it, some don't. If you are going to use the car as a daily driver, supple leather seats can be a lot more comfortable. Here is a pic of mine...
The car in the link you posted does NOT have "supple" leather seats. The supple leather seats do not have the smaller "strips" or tufts of leather on the rear of the seat bottom. The pic below is supple leather, which, BTW, are VERY conefortable and are easier to clean than the standard leather seats.
Halogen = No Headlight Washers (Chrome Cap looking pieces)
Bi-Xenon = Headlight Washers
IIRC, the option is 601??? Hopefully others can chime in. I am guessing you can get them 2 ways, (1) option 601 or (2) a "package" that includes them.
From those pictures in the auction it is hard to tell and MANY people mistake the Bi-XENON lights with HALOGENS since they are both projector style lights.
This place is not too far away from me. Let me know if you'd like me to check it out. I will not be able to give you a good assessment of the mechanical condition of the car, but I should be able to give it a once over and let you know if I'd touch it.
Lotsta miles. Make sure it's checked thouroughly. A car with that many miles has had alot of service, (hopefully) oil, brakes, maintanence. Make SURE you get all records on it. If they DON'T have them, make them get 'em. Also, call PCNA, have them give you ANY dealer where warranty work or major service was required. Call and ask what work was done. Have it PPI'd by a PPI company. Go drive it BEFORE you pay!!!
I agree with that entirely. Do all the homework that you can, then if it passes scrutiny, then if there's time before the auction ends (I see htat it ends tomorrow). I can look at it and then you can come out and test drive it.
One heads up, I don't think this place has been around long. I saw an ad. for a car there when I was buying my car earlier in the year, plus when I've driven by there I noted that the sign is pretty new.
The main thing is to check the background of the car, as I would class htese guys as sellers of high end cars.
Edit: I took a look at their website and it looks like the quality of their stock has increased since I was last there.
I got mine for $56,500. Everything checked out on it. Now, personally, I would rather have a year older car with 17k miles for my price. That said, if you can get this car for $50 or close to it, and everything checks out, it may be worth a go.
JUST my opinion, others WILL differ.
Aside from pmletter.com, nada, edmunds, kbb and looking at closed auctions on eBay, I'd suggest driving it and generally getting a feel for the C4S. Anywhere around $50K for such a heavily optioned example would be a bargain. I'd like to see the window sticker and the service history and be sure this car isn't exhibiting troubles. A CPO contract (usually around $2K) would be a good move in case all that AWD Carrera engine goodness needed anything beyond a filter flip and tires.
You might want to arrange for Holbert Porsche in Warrington to do the PPI.

I take mine there and they have been pretty good to me.
Thanks for your inputs. And Oreganet thanks for your offer. I'm in touch with their sales and may ask for your once-over with the car. Oreganet do you know about how much a PPI is at Warrington Porsche? Carfax for what it's worth is clean 3 owner car in NY, NJ, Penn; car still has active Porsche warranty. Also, how does one get a CPO on a vehicle?
Any Porsche can be sold a CPO by any dealer even when it's sold between private parties, but it does have to have a service history to qualify.
A thorough PPI will cost more than $200. A thorough PPI will take three hours or more depending upon the model and must include wheels-off inspection for accident repair, paint-thickness tests, leak-down and driving, verification of service history, OBD codes as well as checking for special items such as valves on early cars, recalls on later model cars and known problems on specific models.
Yes and No. Basically the dealer buys the car from the seller, CPO's it, then sells it to you for that price plus the CPO cost (and any misc fees).
