They damaged my last transport from East to West coast, then tried to pay me off cash on the day ($100) for what turned out to be a $1200 bumper respray!

It's probably a good thing that the Viper didn't go along for the ride.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone ever used a cross country transporter? I contracted a company to find me an enclosed trailer to transport my Porsche from the east to west coast... 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't been scheduled. Is this normal?
I told him to schedule an enclose or open trailer at this point. Is this stupid to request the open trailer as we're talking about an $80k car?
Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated
I used Intercity. They are awesome! they are the exclusive transporter of the CGT for PCNA. I shipped from Las Vegas to North Carolina and they were everything promised. The scheduling will take some time unless you PAY EXTRA to get a specific time since they have to get their trucks filled as best as possible. They worked with me and gave me two rates, of course I went the cheaper route and they gave me a "window" when I scheduled and then as we got closer they gave me the exact day and time for pickup.
Forgot to mention that Intercity OWNS their trucks (covered) and you are dealing with ONLY their employees. Check out their website. If I have to ship again I will defintely use them!
ps. where you went wrong is "contracting" a company to schedule for you. They will wait till they get the best deal for THEM as opposed to you and them subsonctract out the transport (something I would NEVER have signed up for). Hence, your timeframe will suffer.
Make sure you stick with covered transport - otherwise your vehicle will be subject to dust, dirt, stone chips, and damage from overhanging trees etc.
And don't ever use

They never did fully pay up, and getting any money out of them at all took 6 months
Bunch of thieving b@st@rds!
Chris.
I'm familiar with Intercity and got positive remarks from others about them and ironically that is who I called first. But they said it would take 3-4 weeks to schedule and other 7-14 days for delivery. This other company said 5-7 days to schedule and 7-10 for delivery. I thought great less than half the time. Here we are at 3 weeks and still no scheduled pick up.
Thanks folks. Got the car loaded onto the back of a truck by Demoise in less than 2 hours from posting on this site. I should get it by the end of the week
Just a side note. Demoise is a Certified Porsche transporter. Apparently I called them at the right time as they were picking up a load of new Porsches at the Port of Baltimore for transport to SoCal. A Viper was scheduled for the tail load and financing fell through, so my car was the last on the truck.
Thank you very much for the tip. I'll post pics when I get it.
It's probably a good thing that the Viper didn't go along for the ride. The Porsches would have treated that Viper like the proverbial "ugly red headed step-child." The Viper would have been neurotic by the time it reached So Cal!
