While it doesn't appear to be an issue if it fits (read, doesn't rub against your wheel well), I'd look to use a tire that more properly matches your configuration.

I need new tires on my 2000 911 C2. I have so far used Bridgestone Pole Position SO-3. I like them but I have decided to try something else. I would like to purchase the Michelin Sport PS2. However, the size they offer for the front wheels are 205/ 55 YR17. The standard size for my wheels are 205/ 50 YR17. Is the difference a problem? As far as I can calulate the Michelin tire is 1 cm higher than the Bridgestones. Anybody actually running with that configuration? Thanks, Tom.
