I'm running 14f/7r and have no issues on my BBS RS-GT's.
Leading evidence: 'Run 14f/7r and have no issues' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check alignment or suspension components' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Yes, but I am running stock 997 wheels on my 2004 996 C2.

When's the last time you checked your alignment or suspension components?

It's also easy enough to mount up the wheels with the 14mm spacers and check cosmetics/fit.

I have pretty much the same question but when you do it (no matter what size spacers you use) would you mind taking and posting before and after photos from above, in front and behind for comparison purposes?

I have seen threads on 6speed of guys using a heat gun to shape the fender liner to allow for a larger spacer and no rubbing but sounds kind of silly to me.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have 14mm front and 23mm rear, 225/40/18f and 265/35/18r it was rubbing a little in the rear and i got the fenders rolled and problem solved
My car is a 2002 and I run the standard 18" liteweight five spokes.
I have been offered a set of H&R spacers to let me fill out the wheel arches a bit. They are 14mm at all four corners.
I know that is a good size for the rear - but is this too thick for the front? My recollection is that 7mm spacers are the preferred size.
My car is lowered to Euro height or lower.
Thanks for the advice gents.
I have pretty much the same question but when you do it (no matter what size spacers you use) would you mind taking and posting before and after photos from above, in front and behind for comparison purposes? Thanks.
What size tires?
It's also easy enough to mount up the wheels with the 14mm spacers and check cosmetics/fit.
PS, I have a pair of 5mm spacers I'd be happy to swap you for your 14's if you decide yo need something thinner.
Stock size tires.
285/30 rear
225/40 front.
Not so easy to try it out. The car is on jackstands stripped down to the bare hubs. I'm on a major maintenance cycle. It won't be up again for a few weeks. Also - I converted to studs and nuts but if I went to the spacers I would go back to bolts. I need to remove the studs to fit the spacers. That's not a trivial job - I might need to use a torch depending on how strong the loctite I used wants to hold on.
But you're absolutely right...trying it all on for size would be the best way to figure this out. I was hoping someone out there has been there done that.
Good to know about the swapping option. Do you intend to run the 14 mm on the front then?
I have been looking into this as well.. Just lower the front but kept the back stock because of the hard top. Id be happy to try them on and take some pictures.. don't have anything better to do.. haha
Yes, but I am running stock 997 wheels on my 2004 996 C2. The front 997 wheels have 7mm more offset than the stock 996 wheels, so I need 7mm of offset just to get back to par... 14mm spacers with my wheels is like 7mm spacers with your wheels.
Yes - for sure on the back with the 14 mm anyway. You might be able to get away with stock bolts with a 5 mm spacer (caveat - I do not know this - I would am only saying it is possible) but you wouldn't want to mix different size bolts front to rear because there's a good chance they'll get mixed up some day.
In my case the spacers I am looking at come with new (longer) bolts.
Don't do more than a 7mm in front. Remember there's an extra axis in terms of the wheel having to turn and it'll likely rub on th fender liner. The best set up the we use is 7mm front and 15mm rear.

I agree with the above post on the front spacers. Any larger you will rub. I have seen threads on 6speed of guys using a heat gun to shape the fender liner to allow for a larger spacer and no rubbing but sounds kind of silly to me.
7mm and 15mm are the best set up. I went 13mm on the rear because I am lowered on h&r springs and I was afraid of rubbing. Now that I have them I'm confident I could have went with the 15mm spacers. Here is a before and after for reference.
Yes, but i bought the car 6 months ago i havent decided on wheels yet, thinking bbs lmr, work meisters sp1, etc. i was looking to make the car look better on the meantime it worked, it looks very good
^ yea.. NO, it looks flush front and the rear was 18x10 et 58, w the 23mm spacer it comes to a et35, almost flush rear, you be surprise how much space NB 996s have in the rear, with the coilovers now it sits 24 1/4" front and 24 3/4" rear.
Haters are gonna hate.. What u gonna do
I have a 2001 (no suspension mods) with Porsche Sport Techno wheels (front size 8x18 50mm offset) with 245/40's in the front and 15mm H&R bolt-through spacers. The clearance is tight but I have no rubbing issues. I like the look because the wheels come out right to the edge of the fender. With 5mm or 7mm spacers, you won't even be able to see the difference vs. no spacers.
I would love to but I dont have a camera, and i dont think i can post pics from my iphone, maybe i can email you some pics and you can post them, thanks
I put 14s on my 2002 with 295/30-18s Advan Neova. The tires are pretty soft and after a few weeks the tires has noticeable wear on the inside third, so I removed the spacers.
It looked fantastic but I didn't want to ruin my tires.
Spacers changing the alignment drastically enough to wear down tires within a few weeks. I don't even have to apply geometry to that one. When's the last time you checked your alignment or suspension components?
OK - it sounds like the no-issues setup is 15mm rear, 7 mm front.
With that said....14mm rear and 5 mm front is pretty close enough for me. Are you still up for a trade pfbz?
If so then I'll pick up the set of four 15 mm spacers this weekend. I'll confirm that I have them with you early next week and we'll each ship our respective tradeables at the same time, hopefully pretty quick.
Each guy covers his own shipping and bolts are not included right?
I'll send you a PM too.
