Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The 3rd brake light has been replaced twice in the last 2 years and on my trip home the small piece that covers on of the attachment pieces fell off.

The second owner changed front and rear links (7 years ago!), rebuilt the AC compressor, replaced a front wheel bearing and just prior to selling it replaced the tires and did the brakes.

You're right about the twists being easy to clean, nothing but soft curves, easiest to clean wheels ever made!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After 4 months of being a prospective buyer I am finally an owner. The car is ocean blue metallic with gray leather. It has a few options; LSD, 2WD, all leather interior, Bose HiFi (haha), power everything and heated seats. No pix yet because it is in dire need of a detailing and before it gets detailed it goes to the shop for a water pump, fluids change and probably motor mounts. When it is on the lift, an assessment of what the IMS replace performed in 2005 can be made.
I am the third owner. First owner put 50k on in 6 years. The second owner put 25k on in 8 years. The second owner changed front and rear links (7 years ago!), rebuilt the AC compressor, replaced a front wheel bearing and just prior to selling it replaced the tires and did the brakes. He also did at least one oil change every year.
Every feature works but there are few fixes I need to make. The 3rd brake light has been replaced twice in the last 2 years and on my trip home the small piece that covers on of the attachment pieces fell off. I'm wondering if it is hitting something when it goes up and down. Has anyone else had this problem?
The wheels have a couple of scuffs and scratches so that needs to be done. More troubling is a spot above the windshield with peeling clearcoat. It's half the size of a postage stamp. I'm hoping the detailer has a good answer for it. The frunk, engine lid handles have the typical scrapes that need to be addressed.
The car drives great. Power is good and the steering is tight. In the words of a teenager, the clutch is annoying. The clutch retard system makes it easy to stall one or two seconds after the car launches. I may have to remove it.
The best switch on the dash is traction control. I was a bit frustrated with cornering - when I entered a corner hard the car would fight back with understeer. One push of the traction control rocker and I am in control. 996's are fun.
Congrats & welcome! Great color combination - white gauge faces? Year? We know it is a C2 with 6 speed. Sounds like your fixes are minor - remember that anything but a garage queen is going to have some warts. Cars are meant to be driven and cars that ARE driven are going to have some imperfections - so don't obsess (too much) over things like scratches on the frunk and engine lid handles (we won't think less of you because of those scratches). And definitely, PICS! Come on, the seller had to have at least one decent looking photo in the for sale ad. True confession - my avatar is still a photo taken by the previous owner, and the reason I use it is because you can't see the hideous red tape stripes he had on the sides. So, get a pic up or it didn't happen.
No white dials, black will have to do.
I found what looks to be a great shop in Stow MA. Very knowledgeable owner and lots of Pcars ranging from 356 race cars to 993s. It's a busy place and my car will get serviced next week. The owner twisted my arm to get me onto a track soon. I'm on the fence. I already have a boat racing addiction.
BTW this is my DD except for snow days.
Congrats! And if you do change the motor mounts these are the ones we use here (they're semi-solid so they don't create vibration):

More pix, iphone quality though. Had a day of fun cleaning and fixing the car. Clicker works now. Rattle from the passenger door turned out to be empty cassette boxes for Beatles, Moody Blues and the Stones.
I think the oddments "ashtray delete" holder should have a grippy rubber mat at the bottom which mine is missing.
Sidemarkers and miscellaneous small hardware is on the way so I can sort out the frunk and lights. I'm liking the turbo twists more after washing them, so easy to clean. They will be repainted soon.
Thanks.
I searched Pelican and couldn't find:
1) Roof rack cover repair parts to make the trim piece stay flush.
2) Visor mirror cover spring replacement. Mine hangs down in my line of sight.
3) Rubber mat for the bottom of the ashtray delete bin.
Anyone know of an online source? The closest dealer is 45 minutes each way from home. Hmmm, maybe far away is better.
Great looking boat by the way
I usually tend to go for the older Correct Crafts. I am pretty sure the part your looking for to hold down the roof rack trim cover stay flush is 99655972900. For more information on the other pieces,
