Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Got a little tap from behind this afternoon while at a light. Kid behind me says his car jumped out of gear but I think he wasn't paying attention and started to drive off as he noticed the people in the left turn lane moving while we had a red waiting to go straight. After the initial WTF I looked in the rear view mirror and saw him motion to pull off to the side where we did and exchanged info and called the law. Poor kid, thought he was going to burst into tears. Although I wasn't happy it could have been worse and I told him this. Hopefully it's only the bumperette and nothing else. At least he had insurance (which isn't mandatory in NH-go figure). Filed the claim and waiting to hear from my insurance tomorrow. The bumperette will be in the classifieds by the end of the week......kidding.

l feel your pain. If you can believe, this just happened to me today!!! Unfortunately, mine happened in a parking lot. I already reached out to Eric for a new one, definitely cheaper than dealing with the insurance company.
sorry to hear that dugger1; it sucks when it's not your fault.
There shouldn't be any deductible. The kid's insurance should cover the whole thing.
.........exactly. I contacted my insurance today and they provided me with the other parties claim. This won't cost me a thing other than the inconvenience which I can live with. I'm lucky it was a light tap and it hit the bumperette. I am going to request an inspection in the event there is hidden damage. I doubt it since it was not a hard hit at all but I will take the opportunity to have it looked at.
Is it scratched or just scuffed? if its just scuffed, use a magic eraser then some clay bar and it should come right out.. save alot of trouble in the long run.
but if you scuff or scratch the rubber you cant buff it out like you can with paint, and if they need to be painted it easier and cheaper to paint one thats already painted as opposed to having to paint unpainted rubber ones
i would try and get paid direct from the kid, i'm sure he would rather not go through insurance, he probably has a massive deductible, assuming if it goes through his insurance you would end up with a dirty carfax
I got bumped on main street in Concord last October. Three early 20s kids in the car, all out of (and from different) states. Driver wasnt the vehicle owner (owner was in the passenger seat) i stopped for a family in the cross walk, he must not have been paying atgention. He hit his horn, made me jump (didnt know anyone was behind me and I am constantly checking mirrors) screaching tires and he swerved. Hit me so lightly that i thought it was me jumping from the horn. We both drove off, I noted the direction he went. When I got out, saw he had scraped my bumper. Took off in his direction and actually found them just getting out of the car. They were reay good kids, very sorry. Turned out they were all camp counselors. I called the cops just to be sure, since driver wasnt owner and all were out of state. The kid actually called tge next day to apologize again and make sure the insurance was working out. Damage sucks but as you said, could be much worse.
Make sure you save that picture and a larger picture showing no more damage was present. When it comes time to sell it being on carfax may bite you in the *** but pictures will help mitigate that significantly I think.
