Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Car runs great now and no issues. Made a big difference. I tried cleaning the MAF with the commercial MAF cleaner...did not work. Also, got a great deal on it by ordering a new MAF by the BOSCH part number. Scored one off Amazon for for $161 brand new. For people wanting a BOSCH MAF part number for their 996....use this site, got it from this forum I think: http://www.boschautoparts.com/Vehicl...artFinder.aspx Just because it did not come in a Porsche box made no difference. Saved me quite a bit of money. Just wanted to pass on the good news and thanks to the forum. EDIT: If your problem is a MAF sensor....I hope this helps you out and you can save some money. This is not a guarantee it will fix your 1128 and 1130 code problems.

POST 2Original post

Years ago I had an issue very similar to yours. Cleaned the MAF but codes reappeared within a couple of weeks. Bought a new MAF (about the same price you paid) and have not had any codes since. Nice to have a cheap and easy fix once in awhile.

POST 3Original post

I replaced my MAF back in 2009 with the exact same codes (1128 & 1130). All the cleaning in the world would not get the codes to stay gone more then a few days. I think the temperate sensor portion of the MAF is what actually failed. When winter hit, it would back fire for the first 10 seconds of running, then would clear up until the next morning.
