Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

19" wheels can certainly be used if that is the desired look you are going for, but we recommend an 18" diameter for the 996 chassis.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Considering a wheel upgrade for my 1999 coupe. Looking for some input on how big I can go without causing too many problems. I found a set on ebay ... Front: 19 x 8, rear: 19 x 11, offset for front is 51, rear is 52 with a 5 x 130mm bolt pattern. The seller is "directwheels4less." Any input about the fitment and/or seller would be appreciated.

POST 2Original post

Check out Apex wheels.... Great fit and OEM like quality / fit. I do have a set on my 997, defiantly worth the money. Rear fit maybe very aggressive for NB 996 https://rennlist.com/forums/wheel-an...gallery-5.html https://www.apexraceparts.com/shop-b...arrowbody.html https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...m-gallery.html Other cool choices for lightweight wheels are Advan, Volk and Wedssport https://art-of-attack.com/collection...-dark-gunmetal

POST 3Original post

I have a couple of sets for sale in 18 and 19 all direct fits they were on my 99 lmk they are cheaper Mike

POST 4Original post

As mentioned, we have engineered wheels specifically for the 996 chassis with optimum widths and offsets. 19" wheels can certainly be used if that is the desired look you are going for, but we recommend an 18" diameter for the 996 chassis. Not only are 18" wheels lighter and perform better, we believe they suit the 996 chassis best. 996s have a pretty short rolling diameter, and 19" tire configurations can get a little tricky. Here is a link to our 996 Narrowbody Carrera Wheel & Tire Fitment Guide: LINK Assuming this is for street use, the two configurations I would recommend are: 18" F: 18x8.5" ET50 R: 18x11" ET60 19" F: 19x9" ET50 R: 19x11" ET60 - Ryan
