Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While sitting in traffic, I've noticed that my AC starts to blow warm-ish but as soon as I start rolling it gets very cold again. The last time it did this was when the outside temp was mid 80s. I've checked the coolant level and it looks to be OK. When outside the car I can hear the fan running up front and it shuts off as soon as I turn off the AC in the car. Is there something else I should be checking? Does this sound like an issue with the compressor or something else in the system? The car is a 2003 C4S.

POST 2Original post

Make sure both fans are running at full speed.

POST 3Original post

Likely the system needs a top off of R134a refrigerant.

POST 4Original post

May also be the foam on your blend door inside the heater box is gone. Coolant always passes through the system and the door closses it off. It may also be low charge. A can of refrigerant with a gauge will tell u if its low.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did see some small pieces of foam come out of my air vents inside the car. Can you please elaborate on this? Can the foam be replaced? Thanks!
