Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

on the trip odometer - reset when full (actually I reset it as soon as I pull in for gas - I find I don't forget it this way).

Suggestion
Plus I think its another "tool" in the toolbox to check the "health" of the car by checking the mileage.

Suggestion
I check the mileage computer on the car, and I get about 20 mpg with mostly "spirited" driving.

I work with numbers, and enjoy it so I check mileage numbers.

Suggestion
I get about 220-230 on fill ups, but then again I have a problem with the gas pedal for some reason it likes to go to the floor at least once a day .

Suggestion
Driving back to Boston from Seattle, I was getting about 350 miles between fill ups, a couple of times closer to 375 miles, especially when I was in the flat Midwest.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I never check. Don't see the point really. I alter my driving as to how I feel on the day. One thing I keep an eye and ear on are the sounds of the engine and the rev counter. I fill up when I see the tank on a quarter full.
Driving back to Boston from Seattle, I was getting about 350 miles between fill ups, a couple of times closer to 375 miles, especially when I was in the flat Midwest. Now, back home in the city, not more than 250 miles.
I don't typically drive a sports car for mileage but the Porsche gets surprisingly good economy. My c6 Vette was also very good on fuel. My drive to work is mostly highway. I have a 2015 suburban which chews around $120 a week if I drive the Porsche instead I do the same commute for about $45.
Agreed, 911 is a respectable econo car for highway trips if you can fight the considerable temptation not to hit Sport or Sport+ button, and/or get off the interstate to hit some twisty side roads.
I've done two 3K+ road trips in my 997.2S & got close to 30 mpg, not too far off the 32-33 mpg we just averaged on a 4K road trip in my wife's SLK250, which is a 4-cylinder turbo with roughly half the HP...T
I usually fill up every Monday morning. I have in town driving for 5 days and then a small 1 hour trip to holiday house at sea side. In total I drive 450-500km between fills. I suppose if it's only town driving I get around 400km.

16.9 gal tank x 20 mpg = 338 miles per tank. But, that would mean running it to empty. So, your 270 to 300 seems right to me.
Funny how we're all different. I've always done the same. Fill the tank when it gets low and reset the trip odometer. My wife will only put in $40 no matter what and never pays attention to the trip odometer... I guess some want to know details and have comfort knowing your covered, others are just in the moment and just want to get going...
I'm one of those that when I take a highway trip I'd like to know about how far I can get before filling up. I live in Dallas and back in the day worked at Walmart in Bentonville, Arkansas. I usually flew home; but, when driving took comfort in knowing I could get home on a single tank. 355 miles if I remember correctly. So to those baffled by the point; respectively, that's mine.
Great point. Out here in Texas, it can be a long way between gas stations once you get out of the Metroplex, especially if you want to put in a certain band from a station with hopefully good turnover of premium gas. I always drive with the indicator telling me how many miles to my next fill up, with occasional flipping over to tire pressures...T
My fuel gauge is messed up, so my regular routine is to refill the tank when I reach 200 mi. on the trip odometer - reset when full (actually I reset it as soon as I pull in for gas - I find I don't forget it this way). All this being said, I average about 20mpg (18 around town 24 hwy.) which should give me a total range of >320 mi.
I work with numbers, and enjoy it so I check mileage numbers. Plus I think its another "tool" in the toolbox to check the "health" of the car by checking the mileage. I usually get about 280-300 in-town, while the best on a road-trip was 340.
That seems pretty good to me. I get about 220-230 on fill ups, but then again I have a problem with the gas pedal for some reason it likes to go to the floor at least once a day .
Just love the sound and how it pulls and even more so after 4k rpm.
