Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

43 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I want too wrap my 996 chrome. I'm pretty much set on making it chrome... But there's three different chromes I'm having a hard time choosing... Chrome, Blue Chrome, or Gold, I attached some pictures too give a better idea... (I couldn't find the blue chrome on a porsche so I used this mercedes picture,) Also note that the gold 996 I'm not looking too add that gold bar effect. Let me know what would look best and catch a lot of eyes..

POST 2Original post

Why not just take a huge taco and hot wing dump on your car and get it over with?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did, wasn't very fun to wash off.

POST 4Original post

If your mind is set and we can't shake it off, then just plain chrome is going to look the better of the 3 IMO. Blue is 2nd place. Gold, yuk!

POST 7Original post

I have seen chrome wrapped cars and they are VERY ghetto IMHO bad form to do it to a Porsche

POST 8Original post

What is wrong with you? This would be an indictable offense in Germany. If you do go ahead and to this, you can never travel to the fatherland again!

POST 9Original post

Your money, your car...so your call. But if you really have to chrome, then I suggest BLACK chrome. P.S. Not too late to put your chrome flame suit on😉

POST 10Original post

+1 if you're dead set. Black chrome. I personally hate chrome and prefer Matt colors.

POST 11Original post

I'm guessing this is a joke. If not, please make it so.

POST 12Original post

The gold is awful. The blue is the least offensive IMO.

POST 13Original post

NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS SACRED ANYMORE!!!!! WHY NOT TRY TO SET A WORLD RECORD AND SEE HOW MANY LED LIGHTS YOU CAN COVER IT WITH.

POST 14Original post

When will you have this done? Approx. how much will it cost? Please post pics when complete!

POST 15Original post

Wrap it in Chrome as the base then have them use the blue chrome and gold chrome for graphics.

POST 16Original post

Check out this guys other posts. Don't feed the troll.

POST 19Original post

I don't give a **** if he wraps a ****ty 996 in chrome. The fact that somebody wrapped a GT2 RS in chrome makes me want to throw up or cry.

POST 20Original post

I think you should do whatever you like with your car. You own it, and you should personalize it to suit your own taste. If you like chrome, then go for it! I don't like it personally, but it's not my car. Do what you like and don't worry about what other people think.

POST 22Original post

If you can get it to look like this: Or this, but I couldn't find a green chrome porsche:

POST 23Original post

Of the 3, just chrome, but I think matte darker wraps look better.

POST 24Original post

Edit - saw op's other thread. Suggestion withdrawn. See if you can find a chrome lace garter wrap...

POST 25Original post

Check out the antique/junk yard wrap it's not bad. Might as well after the chrome, blue or gold wrap pretty much there anyway. But seriously we all know this is a joke.... Right?

Touche... *slow clap* If you're set on it and it's what you're going to do... I kinda like that blue color.

POST 28Original post

Vinyl chrome will scratch easily over time so this is definitely only for those garage queens that don't get dirty often. Alternative...

I think it would be neat to either strip the paint off and clear coat, or shoot it with some kind of aluminum color. Well, no, that wouldn't be neat, but it would be better than chrome.

POST 31Original post

I trust you will be adding undermount neon all the way around, along with 28 inch wire wheels? Make sure the chrome on the wheels matches the finish you choose---I mean, anything less would be gauche...

POST 32Original post

Chrome base; gold chrome flames; blue chrome rocker panels; leopard vinyl roof. Then, get inside and light it on fire.

POST 33Original post

Kind of cool wrap for that military gun enthusiast. Seriously kind of like it.

They have brushed aluminum vinyl wrap for that Delorean style effect.

So excited I can post a serious comment. Brushed aluminum looks very nice like it a lot. Marty Mcfly is a big fan as well.

I wonder if that cord on the ground is plugged into the Flux Capacitor?

POST 38Original post

not gonna lie, that second shot of the camo is pretty badass

POST 39Original post

Quotes source post: 12466831

Possibly. But this is the upgraded version; you know, the one that uses a can of soda and banana peel and generates enough power to go light-speed.

You're right. I should have known by the headlights.

POST 42Original post

Quotes source post: 12467134

Yup your right it's the second generation model. Here is a pic Great color for the wrap

POST 43Original post

Forget wrapping. Disassemble the car and send it to a bumper shop piece by piece to be chrome plated. Sure you'll have to have new metal front and rear bumpers fabricated so the plating will stick, but for a project this awesome you really want to do it right!
