Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was reading an article in Panomara. Interesting to those of us who track our cars:

I think it can withstand higher than 0.8g. I measured my boxster with pss pulling close to 1g and never have any issue with oil starvation.

POST 3Original post

I literally jut read that article on the toilet.

Then you must not be a fast driver....kidding. Were you running track tires? I read the same thing sat night.

POST 5Original post

Saw that this weekend. It's nothing new as we've known for awhile that they can get oil starved on the track. There are also existing mods out there to specifically help with that. I don't gather (as the article implies) that it is much of an issue for the random track day by novice drivers. It seems to be more of an issue for the serious guys that are pushing themselves and the cars to the limits. I wouldn't hesitate to take ours to the track or AutoX once or twice a year, but if we were to get semi-serious I'd start looking into the oil pan and baffle mods.

POST 6Original post

0.8g? Even in '99 that seems pitiful considering my '99 Subaru Impreza could hit over that amount on the skidpad on regular street tires. If Porsche was going to take away the true dry sump system from the m96(thanks bean counters), they should've at least made it more robust to support at least 1g IMO as you can still hit that with DOTstreet tires these days(and in '99).

Inquiring minds want to know. Do I have to worry about high banking at Daytona or Charlotte with an X51 motor?

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 12465189

Highly doubt it. You already should have the X51 sump plate with baffles.

POST 12Original post

Can't believe that people still think that G forces are the only contributing factor to oil starvation...
