Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took my pump apart to see what kind of shape it's in, seems clean as a whistle. I know part of the DIY is greasing the two bearings on the shaft of the motor, just not sure how to get to them. Do i need to take the motor apart, or do i just try using a syringe to squeeze new grease in there? Also the motor seems a bit knotchy when i spin it by hand but seem to run fine when i put 12V on it, is that normal?

POST 2Original post

It's all here... http://www.renntech.org/forums/tutor...-sai-easy-diy/ Good Luck

POST 3Original post

KK had a very extensive write up on this, if I remember right, he carefully pried open the bearing seals and smear some grease there and all is good. Just search for sai pump diy or something like that.

POST 4Original post

Mine began squealing when the weather started getting cold last fall and I did KK's DIY. I may have waited too long - it was more quiet and sporadic, but it did return. Just sprung for a new one from Pelican (~$280) and will be putting it on this weekend. R

Judging by the pictures in dporto's link, it doesn't seem like you put the seals back?

That you have to ask KK His text description said otherwise though.

POST 7Original post

"Judging by the pictures in dporto's link, it doesn't seem like you put the seals back?" I haven't gone back through the link, but if the bearings are sealed I would put the seals back in if possible after removal.
