Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm running 19x10 rear with 285/30/19 on the Narrow body without fender rolling.

My 2002 C4 Cab has 19" 'Lobster Claw' wheels and I would like to use H&R springs that lower the car 1", front and rear.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My 2002 C4 Cab has 19" 'Lobster Claw' wheels and I would like to use H&R springs that lower the car 1", front and rear.
My question is: Will there be a 'rubbing' issue? Should I go back to 18" wheels?
I don't mind going back to 18" wheels since the car will be lower.
I am concerned the geometry will be adversely affected if I don't put tons of money into control arms, camber plates, bump steer kits, etc., etc.
On my 2001 C2 I have H&R Lowering Springs and 19x10 Avant Garde wheels on the rear with 285/30 Contis and 19x8 Avant Garde wheels on the front with 235/35s. The fender lips have been rolled.
If I have a passenger and hit a dip in the road going pretty fast very occasionally I'll hear a quick scrub from the rear.
Not sure how the difference in the C2 and C4 might impact this.
Thanks mharrison. The rears must be 19" X 11" because the tires are 295/30/19.
I think I will try the 19 inchers and if there are some problems, go back to the original 2002 18" wheels.
I will try to find some through 'Wheel Enhancement' and have them turn them into a polished finish with no coating [I like to polish my wheels].
If the lobster forks are narrow body fit, then you shouldn't have a problem. The rear suspension geometry changes drastically when the car gets lowered.
If you have any problems, you could roll the fenders.
I have a 996 C2 2002 with 295 tires on the rear rims with 19x11 and ET 60. It works fine but I have experienced that the tires occasionally touches the attachment for the rear bumper.
My car is a European spec lowered an additional 1 inch and I haven't rolled the fenders.

Thanks Robo_Porsche!
When your car hadn't been lowered the extra 1" from Euro Spec, did you experience any negative effects?
Mine will be lowered to Euro Specs.
I appreciate the input!
I had my car lowered before I bought my new wheels so I don't really know the answer to your question. I would assume that you won't have any problems at all if you lower to Euro specs.
