FYI-My 996 is a daily driver currently fitted with 18" chrome wheels, which have too much bling for me!

Suggestion

5 mm would not be an issue IMO - put pre/post number in the link and read the bottom for what the changes actually mean in regards to clearance

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would like to fit OEM 17" or 18" wheels to my '99 cabrio. The owner's manual says both the front and rear offset should be 55mm. How much do I dare deviating from this offset before encountering clearance problems? Is +/- 5mm okay? FYI-My 996 is a daily driver currently fitted with 18" chrome wheels, which have too much bling for me! relinuca

POST 3Original post

What size wheels are you interested in? The 18" wheels have different offsets than the 17" wheels. If you are looking for a very high quality, light weight forged wheel, I can help you. http://www.fikse.com
