Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have a 2004 C4S Cab. Just recently while I was stopped at a light, the engine stumbled, the ABS and PSM lights blinked on, the built in Escort detector restarted, the trip odometer reset to 0 and the clock reset to 12:00. There was this sound of like a relay was cycling from the passenger door or in the engine compartment when all of this happened. The car never died but repeated this two or three times. I gave it some gas and then the stop light changed and I drove away like nothing nothing happened. When I got home, noticed the auto up/down on the passenger window didn't work. I lowered the top and raised it and the window acted fine. After that, the auto up/down worked. A couple days later, went to start the car in the garage and it acted like the battery was dead. I got out, locked and then unlocked the car and things were fine, except the trip odometer reset to 0 and the clock was 12:00. Car started fine. Last nite at a friends house shut the car off in the drive way and went to shut the door and had the driver side window sorta bounce off the frame since it didn't auto lower apparently when I opened it. The passenger side closed fine just moments before that. When I got in the car, I noticed that it had already powered down e.g. The dash was dark, couldn't pop the frunk, etc. I put the key in the ignition and turned it to on but didn't start it. Electronics came on, window worked but the trip OD reset and no, the clock didn't reset this time. Wonkiest electronics I've ever experienced. Does anyone have any idea where to start tracking this down? Sorry for long post. Thanks.

Have the battery tested ... failing battery can cause all sorts of electrical funkiness.
