The plenum came with my 03' X51 996 (car in avatar) and has very little run time on it as the car sat for 3.5 years before I bought it.

I think he maybe getting mixed up with the 997 x51 package which does use a different one.

The plenum came with my 03' X51 996 (car in avatar) and has very little run time on it as the car sat for 3.5 years before I bought it. I'm looking for more HP so I just bought their Competition Plenum which accommodates the larger 997 GT3 TB which I'll be installing later today/tomorrow. They're $795 new so how about $495. including shipping ICUS.... Pics later today... JR Gordon

Not true. The x51 uses the same plenum and throttle body as the standard 3.6. What is different is the intake. The X51 uses aluminum intake runners versus plastic....

do you have a part number, the IPD website lists different part numbers for the 996 with the X51 package (96174-X) vs. the standard 3.6 (96174-3.6) not sure they are interchangeable... Thanks

Just as an FYI, IPD has revamped their part numbering system as well as made a slight tweak to their design(dimples added). I'm not sure if the part being sold is the first or second gen version.
