Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Big life changes. Ive already done so much with it - 27k miles in about 16 months. Five of those it sat over winter. Cant say I didnt get my fun out of it. Haha
"An LN Engineering IMS Solution has been installed and the rear main seal has been replaced."
It doesn't appear that the IMS solution is installed as the oil feed line isn't there and the car still has the cartridge style filter. What it may have is the IMS Retrofit which is the improved ball bearing design. You may want to review and correct that description.
Got th email notification on this auction yesterday and immediately lusted over the pics. Atlas is my current fav amongst all colors Ive seen on a 996.
Just some friendly advice, Id def take and submit an updated pic showing the oil feed line for the solution just to put potential bidders minds at ease. There seems to be a direct correlation between more communication/disclosure on a car listed on BAT and a higher auction price achieved. GLWA!
Definitely one of the better NA 996 offerings that have been on BAT as of late. Best of luck, should bring in some nice bids.
Do agree with jilphan, best to get updated underbody pics loaded ASAP. For both bidders peace of mind and to keep the BAT keyboard warriors at bay.
According to the car fax he bought it last year (2019) so this may be a rather old photo. I'd either quickly add the correct photo that matches the description or show the receipt or installation decal.
Yep, you definitely need a current pic of the IMS Solution installed.. Not too long ago the Targa that was sold there had an inaccuracy in the description, and the buyer thought the engine had an IMS Solution. It did not.
They are the only IMS Solution Certified Installer in NY. Jeff and his son are great people. I was very happy when they accepted my invite to the Certified Installer program a few years ago.
I had my PPI done at upstate VERY THOROUGH! I bought the car left it there and had them do the ims solution, water pump and few other things. They are really good AND very nice people. Jeff spent an amazing amount of time and patience with me.
I wish they were a little closer, 220 miles round trip. If you have to drop off car, thats double.
I may schedule my next brake flush there, just so I can go check it out.
I already travel 200 round trip to get to Cantech in Syracuse, where I get my work done now.
Wow!
Ive been slammed with life and havent checked this thread. Thanks! Looks like lots of Lots of activity on BaT (about 6k views and 800 watchers), but very little in the comments. Have zero idea whether thats good, bad, or neither. The keyboard warriors have gone easy on me (for now).
I posted new photos, but didnt think the actual the oil feed line was that important. Anyone still think its worth it to jack up and do?
Took a potential buyer out for a test drive today and he says I still love the car - which is definitely true. Its still so much fun. He says hell drive it year-round, which probably makes him a better owner than me.
what brand of ramps can fit under a proper stanced 996 without scraping front bumper/spoiler? Everything I've seen is no Bueno.
good luck with sale! Look forward to watching tomorrow...
Thanks!!
I started to get concerned I was putting too many miles on the car - 23k in the past 15 months, and it sat over winter. I just couldn't stop driving it! haha
This proves folks should be out driving these cars - putting miles them.
The next owner has one hell of a car!
Congrats!
Considering listing my 2000 C4 Cab on BaT too. Please keep us up to date on the finalization of the sale.
Hopefully, the buyer does not reneg and the funds will be received in due course.
Good luck!
Already spoke with buyer. He's stoked on the sale - even considering picking it up and driving it home. Obviously the right call
I'll follow up when all is said and done with a review on the BaT experience.
