Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Could someone help ID what this plastic box contains or what its purpose is? It was not on the 99 however I believe later years have it.

I dunno. My CD changer is between that black box and the amp.

POST 4Original post

So on my 2003, it appears to be where my brake booster cover is poking out from behind the trim. It has this "stripey" texture pattern on it. Perhaps the early cars didn't have textured plastic?

POST 9Original post

Its where you leave a letter to the next owner.

POST 10Original post

It covers part of the ABS system(Hydraulic pump): Three half-turn screws and it pops right out. You'll have to move the spare tire to get to the rear most screw.

The cover on my 99 (Sept. 98 build) looks exactly like the one in your pic.

POST 12Original post

^ You're right, I adjusted the contrast on the photo and I can see the texture on the original photo. My screen was too dark and it looked smooth.

Thanks for confirming and the picture. This is the ABS Pre Charge Pump (99635577541 / 99635577540). On my '99 C2 it must be tucked away somewhere else.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
