Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, I came across a pair of OE rear strakes on ebay. It seems a number of you are looking for them so I thought I would post the link. Cheers, Stan http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...:B:WNA:CA:1123

POST 3Original post

I have mine too. I am on the fence about it. C.

POST 5Original post

I wonder how those would look on my car. Wouldn't take away from the original appeal of the car?

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 5358265

They won't fit properly. The MkII aero has them built into the rear bumper. C.

That's all I needed to know. Thanks!

POST 8Original post

Those GT Trims are for MKI aerokit (GT3 bumper & side-skirts)... I got a CF set from a Rennlister here (Mr. C4), very light and perfect fit. It does make the rear look wider. I really like it but some others here don't... Cheers.

POST 11Original post

I paid around $150 each for mine. I really like them on my car but everyone has different tastes.

POST 12Original post

I am reserecting this because I have a question about mine... Anybody know how these are attached to my bumper? Are they typically bolted through? I have some cracking and I want to remove mine. Should I remove the bumper cap to be sure? Or are these stuck on with double sided tape? Any help is appreciated. Cheers

POST 13Original post

Here's what they look like from behind. 9 bolts each. I'm guessing I don't have everything for the fasteners. I'm gonna take them to the Porsche body shop for painting and let them deal with the installation.

POST 14Original post

That's exactly what I needed to see. Thanks, I guess I will be removing the bumper cover and seeing how I can undo the nuts that presumably attach to those pins. I need to do some bondo work I think, small chips and cracks. I backed into a parking stone, I thought I was good after checking the centre if the bumper. Today I noticed these took the hit. Thanks again for your help.

POST 15Original post

I think on a MKI Aerokit car they really bring the body lines together. The front spoiler, side skirts, and (with these) rear lower all flow together nicely. I think the flow stops a bit abruptly without the rear strakes.

After taking the bumper off, look closely to see how corroded your bolts are. If they don't budge with slight torque, I would either try something like Kroil/PB Blaster or leave as is. If you apply too much torque the bolt will rip off inside the trim.

POST 17Original post

Thanks for the help guys... I removed the bumper cap and unbolted the fins. They came off great and are now at the body's hop for a re fresh and spray. Cheers
