Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.
2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.
This might be old news but Suncoast Parts has a
VIN decoder
service that gives you the build sheet info. This is useful if you are unable to look at the "kardex" or sticker inside the hood (for instance if you're trawling through online ads.) Unfortunately it costs $10 (choose $0 for shipping when you checkout), but if there is a particular VIN that you're interested in, it might be worth it. Here's an example of the data that you get (I've asterisked out some identifying information):
You can then use an option code decoder like
Kindel
or
Stuttcars
. If you just plug in the first set of M numbers (with the English descriptions) the decoders do not recognize option packages like P15. I found the
Motortrend 2002 Porsche 911 Packages and Options
to be useful in this regard. You should use the correct one for your year since they can change.
Hope this is useful for others.
I used this site and it is free, it works for 1995 and newer Porsche.
Just put in your vin# and your build sheet options are listed along with cost.

enjoy....
I used the site posted by "Vampyre" and it worked great. The sticker under my hood is un legible so this worked great. MSRP on my 2002 Targa was $89,175. Only question I have is my option list has both PO4 which is the $3,240 package that includes the Bose upgrade but it also lists 696 which is the $350 AM/FM radio w/CD. Wouldn't that have been included in the PO4 package? Also didn't show YO5 which is a carbon e-brake and shiftknob for $875 which I suppose could have been a dealer added item?
Any dealership can print these, Suncoast just markets them. I periodically have the guys in our local service department print them for me, but we have a good relationship.
