Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

Leading evidence: 'Install fister' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install fister' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Long store short, looking for someone in the San Diego area to perform this mod that has done it before. Any other San Diegans out there that can point me in the right direction? spoke to a guy last week locally, agreed on a price after showing him pictures. took the day off work today to remove cans to take in this morning. got there and now he says he does not want to do it. That is why I am looking for someone that has done it before. any suggestions Rennlisters?
I got mine from Darin at FD Motorsports in the Bay Area.

It came out near the quote I received locally to get them shipped from Darin and return the originals once installed.
He did have a small wait when I ordered, but I would call him.
Great guy, as a bonus.
I agree with the above statements. I looked ALOT for a local person to do the mod for me since at the time Darin was back logged by a couple of months. At the end of the day I got it done by Darin and returned mine after the install. His work is incredible and as someone said he's a great guy. Always takes your call and is a pleasure to talk to. Best mod ever!!!!!!!
Contact Richard. His info is in the link below. He's located in Oceanside, CA. He does great work. Did my Gundo hack and is very familiar with this mod.

HG Motorsports in SD ruined my friends GTR ECU trying to tune it. It was there for something totally unrelated AND they never even asked if they could do any tuning! They just did it. I've heard other scary stories too. Basically I would stay away from there. Plus they didn't take any responsibility for the damage or incurred costs.
So I got the hack done and I'm not overly impressed...? It doesn't sound much different than stock to me. Maybe I'm missing something??
I wanted something that sounded a bit more sporty/throaty.
That's what I am scared of, I don't want to pay for this gundo hack when muffler bypass pipes are the same price in not cheaper for a guaranteed cup car sound. I feel like I wouldn't be satisfied.
I got it done at American Muffler in San Diego on Raytheon Road. I shot them the chat tread from here describing the hack and he said no problem. It looks like they just added that newer looking bypass pipe in the picture. I'm telling ya it really didn't sound much better than stock. I wonder if he didn't do it correctly??
That's the old way and it's less loud. The best (imho) is the Fister

a direct pipe between the inlet and outlet to create a partial bypass.
I've been sitting on the fence about doing Fister D. Sounds nice based on their video clip. OP should have gone that route. Does Fister D give a nice burble at start up?
Do you think adding the pipe between inlet and outlet would be too much, in addition to the mod I've already had done? Do you think it'd be worth the money?
Thanks DTMiller & Ahsai.
Bad idea. I've heard if you have both then it affects the exhaust back pressure and could have negative consequences for the engine and I believe loss of low end torque. I'm sure there are much more knowledgable people that will chime in.
Wouldn't have any negative effect on back pressure.
I don't see there being an issue with adding the new mod to them. But it might be more financially beneficial to sell your current set to someone looking for the kid then getting a stock pair of mufflers and modifying them to fit your needs.
I just installed the Fister on my car last week. On cold start-up it's very loud and I drive slow through my neighborhood. Once it's warmed up, it sounds a lot better/quieter. It's great with the windows up (perfect IMO), slightly too loud for me with the windows down. I'll have to give it more time...
