Also there was the issue of leg strength since I wasn't using the leg much.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was able to drive my car for the first time since July 12th. Now I know what those of you have to deal with when putting your car up for the winter. I have been driving an BMW 540i ( auto) for the last couple of months and I really missed my Porsche. I was in a car accident on July 16th, that totaled my Tacoma pickup and badly injured my left knee. It required surgery to repair the tendons and the fractured knee cap. The rehap meant lots of time with a walker and crutches. I am finally able to bend my knee enough to allow me to get into (and out of) the car in the garage. Also there was the issue of leg strength since I wasn't using the leg much. I have been working with physical therapists to work on flexibility and strength. Man, I have missed the visceral experience of this car. The feel and sound are just what the doctor ordered. This was a nice last Christmas present. I'm Baaaack!

POST 2Original post

Hope your recovery only gets better for you. Rehab can be a tough road. Glad you're back driving the Porsche.

POST 3Original post

The strenght on your leg will be back, when you hit the clutch!!! Sent from my iPhone using Rennlist

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Even though my leg is still on the weak side, there is no issue working he clutch. Now if the car had a cable clutch that would be an issue. Tomorrow I will be attending an autox so we will see how i hold up. It will be an hour each way and I assume there will be 8-10 runs. It will be good to drive in "anger" again.

POST 5Original post

Glad to see your knee is getting better. I've had 4 surgeries on my left knee and 6 years later it's still pretty weak. Driving a stick is no problem now, but I'm afraid of it down the road a few years... and this is why I'm considering a slushbox 996 (don't you hate when people try to make the thread all about ME) Sorry. Here's to a speedy recovery!
