Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all, I've found a 2001 GTS. Now I know there is a GT2 and a GT3 but was not familiar with a GTS so I emailed the dealership and this is what I was sent. Are any of you all familiar with this car/process nomenclature/badging?
Here's the link below:
2001 Porsche Turbo GTS
You have found the one of a kind Porsche Turbo "GTS" that you have been searching for. This is a truly incredible race-ready Porsche. Started as a 2001 Porsche Turbo, the original owner had professionally upgraded the bumpers and spoiler to those of a GT2. In addition, he installed track-compliant racing seats with safety harnesses, and a roll cage equipped with fire extinguishers. Then he took the car a step further and upgraded the suspension, brakes, wheels, tires, exhaust, engine, and computer to give this Turbo a leading edge over all the others. Always professionally maintained and serviced, this car drives beautifully. The road handling is marvelous and the power is tremendous. Call today to have your first hand experience of this elegant Porsche Turbo.

Thanks
It was not a factory designation in 2001. That car is a modified 2001 turbo. The owner decided to make up his own name for it, and he chose GTS to mimic factory nomenclature.
Personally, I hate it when people do that. It's almost like they are trying to pass it off as a special factory edition of the car. The front bumper isn't a GT2 bumper as the ad claims, and the rear bumper is the stock turbo bumper.
As the others have said this car is a modified 911 Turbo. Its not a GTS. The badge is a joke, the "S" is from a C4S badge. Not sure where the GT came from, GT2 or GT3 I imagine...
By coming up with a fake name the dealer is trying to save the market value of the car. Heavily modified cars are not worth as much as OEM unless you can convince someone its a special Porsche from the factory.
Thanks for all the great comments, I agree. As mhs525 said "unless you can convince" lol. I'm not the kinda guy that takes to convincing well. I like all my cars original and pretty much keep them that way the entire time I own them. I'm probably the only guy on here still running pumpkins, lol.
The search continues for a clean original Turbo.
I think the name is a play on GT2, which is a highly modified 996TT that debuted as a 2002 model. Here's what Wikipedia says about the GT2 (Wikipedia, so take it with a grain of salt), and it would appear to me that the modifier of this car tried to make a GT2 out of a 2001 996TT:

Of course, anyone educated enough to know what a GT2 is wouldn't be fooled, so not sure what the point is. To me, the badging just seems cheesy. That being said, I kinda like the car itself.
