This is not a probability of success.

Sorry for the silly question, I just usually always use a jack, etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, hope you are enjoying time with family. I'm visiting my dad and we are doing a few things to his 997 and my 996. Only thing left is the fuel filter on my car. It's a 2001 C2 so is underneath the plastic panel. I forgot my jack but my dad has ramps. Is this enough to access the fuel filter and should I drive up frontwards or rear first? Sorry for the silly question, I just usually always use a jack, etc. Thanks!!

POST 2Original post

I think if you back onto the ramps, they'll give you plenty of room - I think the fuel filter is closer to the rear wheels...

POST 3Original post

Leave it in gear, handbrake on, tire/wheel chocks all round for safety reason. You should be good to go.

POST 4Original post

Let us know how you did swapping out the old fuel filter. I've had mine to install but haven't done it yet.

POST 5Original post

Q for anyone: My first Porsche. 2003 C4 Cab. Tip. Where is the fuel filter located? Some info says it is integral to fuel pump. Any information appreciated. Thx.

Yes, integrated into the fuel pump and does not require replacing.

POST 7Original post

Earlier 996's have separate filter under the car, later models are integrated into the fuel pump. I replaced mine ('99 C2) about 2 years ago - just put it up on blocks about 6" high so was a little tight but workable. Only difficulty I had was removing the brown ground wire which has to be pulled before you can drop the filter. Connector was on tight and it was awkward to remove with the filter still up under the piping that is in the way. Other than that a couple of quick connectors at each end and a strap holding it in place -if I recall. You may have a little fuel spill / drain so may want to have a small catch can and rags.
