Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

With the holidays and all I am still getting familiar with the car in drips and drabs. Am happy to have found this forum and the search function to answer many of my questions. While poking around under the frunk yesterday I noticed that the bracket that surrounds the amp was not attached at all to the 'firewall'. There are two holes but no bolts or threads to use with a bolt. Any thoughts on how to attach the bracket would be appreciated? The other question is how do you keep the front floor mats from sliding around. I see some velcro type material on the back but is there supposed to be a matching piece on the carpet itself. I have always liked on our Audi's the two piece system that snaps the mat to the floor. Is there something like this for the 996? Thanks in advance for your thoughts! Bill New Hartford CT

Welcome. I hope you enjoy your '01 as much as I enjoy mine! My '01 has Velcro circles at the base of the mat near the seat and corresponding Velcro on the floor. It is a 2-inch round plastic flat head with velcro hook with a threaded shaft on the bottom that just screws right in to the carpet/floor. Then there is a disk of the loop glued to the mat. I assumed it was a stock setup so would also assume that you can get it from the dealer.

My '99 C2 has the same arrangement and they work well. I found mine in the frunk with my tool kit unused until I installed them. Welcome to Rennlist.

Thanks for the hint and the warm welcome...I will take a look in the frunk...short of finding them there is something that can be ordered from ECS or some other aftermarket supplier or is it a dealer only item?
