I run the OEM skid plate on mine, but if I go to a deep sump set up, I will work with UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) plastic, it is use by all the off roaders, easy to work with.

I really really wanted the ROW M030 suspension, but bought a used PSS9 set because of how expensive that got.

I added isolation material at each mounting point to get rid of a heavy resonance into the cabin - it worked about 95%.
Don't know if its as good or better than stock as I have never messed with a stock one...But for a lot of money and a little DIY modding the LN seems pretty robust.
What's the modification you have to make? And if you don't have the deep sump does it adjust up, or do you lose as much ground clearance whether or not you actually have the deep sump?
I was curious about your statement on price increase.
So I looked up where a purchased mine from, WOW.
They went from $125 to $390 in less than two years.
It reminds me of the X51 3.6 CIA, years ago it went from less than $1000 to over $3000 in less than a year.

I added isolation material at each mounting point to get rid of a heavy resonance into the cabin - it worked about 95%. Apparently, this issue affects some and not all according to LN - but I definitely had it.
No adjustment, so you will have about 2" between stock sump and skid plate.
It has happened to every performance related part for them. Part of their transition from brand for people who love cars to brand for rich guys.

If you make one, and it mounts not on the engine (i.e. like the LN one, not like the factory one) but it is set up to not waste ground clearance for those of us without deep sumps, I'll be a customer. From motorcycles I know how asphalt grabs aluminum and rips it off the car but simply glides on plastic.
