Any tips how to clean that properly - i'm planning to use some plastic scraper or something like that but it seems that besides those bigger pieces there's this a really thin film like layer.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, some of you may remember that I used that Loctite 5900 to seal the oil sump. Well, all went well and it's been holding fine and as I removed that sump now again there's no extra pieces of that in the sump or in the oil collector etc. But now as I'm about to borescope that 6th cyl I decided to remove that sump but that Loctite 5900 seems to be a p..... to remove from the sump. Any tips how to clean that properly - i'm planning to use some plastic scraper or something like that but it seems that besides those bigger pieces there's this a really thin film like layer. I would like to clean that properly before I put there Drei bond. Any good tips ?

3m makes wiss wheel pads kn blue for aluminum. For manual removal, plasic scraper, scotch bright pad and a stainless or brass wire brush. U can also wet it with brake clean. That will soften it some.
