They came with the studs mounted on the spacer and I used the original bolts to mount the spacers to the hub.

you can see that the stock wheels jut out at what looks to me stock height (check the gap)
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After considerable peer pressure from my online buddies (Thanks Dell!), the final straw came when one of my local friends bought an 06 997 with the same wheels as I have on my 996.
I can now see that my front wheels need to be pushed out at least 7mm to get back to a stock look.
So looking online I find a couple of manufacturers, and was wondering if existing users of these spacers have any preferences?
I've seen mainly H&R and Eibach so far.
Any help much appreciated.
Chris.
Hey Cdodkin,
I have just bought a set of 997 19's and when I asked about buying 7mm spacers Newport996 advised me, to do as he did, and get 15mm spacers. Check out his car and related posts as he has many pics posted so you can see how it looks. I ordered 15mm H&R spacers and 10 60mm bolts. They will arrive next week.
Good luck
You should consider hubcentric at 7mm. If you gamble on H&R or others, you might end up with a wobble. IIRC, all 15mms are hubcentric, but almost all 7mms are not.
And as mentioned above, don't forget to factor in the cost of new bolts.

Yes Chris,
I am going without the lock nut. In fact I am going to remove locknuts from rear to get silver or chrome plastic lug covers as I am sick of looking at the rusty OEM's. Why couldn't Porsche spring for some quality stainless lugs?
Good luck.
I have 7mm H&R fitted on my 03 C4S on the front and 14mm on the rear. The fronts have worked out fine (no wobbles and I have gone 125 MPH +) my only complaint is that they do not have the pilot hole that fastens them to the hub to hold them in place while you put the wheel on (like the rears do) and the remaining protruding flange on the hub is allmost nil to "Hang" the wheel on while you put the bolts thu. ( since the spacer does not have its own flange). If you just jack the car up enough to slide the wheel on without having to "lift" it too much the weels go on pretty easy. It would be better if they have the secondary flange. The price is right however.
My 2 cents
The H&R 15mm spacers arrived with the new 60mm bolts.
Car before spacers
Wheel off - hub face clean and ready to take spacer
Spacer fitted - nice locating screw feature lines everything up and keeps the spacer on the hub while you mount the wheel.
As you can see, adds a nice step out for the 997 alloys on the 996
New 60mm longer wheel bolts (essential)
Replace wheel, star pattern torque to 96lb-ft, and voil!
Spacer visible through the wheel
Handling is great - no wobbles with these hub-centric spacers.
Turn-in is sharper - car feels nice and planted through turns.
I could be wrong but I believe Porsche use spacers themselves...
Would probably never have done it without the peer pressure from Dell!
Gotta love this forum
Chris,
Looks great. Mine arrived a couple hours ago and I am on my way out to the garage now....
Don't forget props to Newport996 for the essential advice to go wiiiide.
Those are my favorite wheels Porsche has made, looks good and makes me wish I would of bought them but I was under the impression "S"s were widebodies.
Just fitted my C4s too 14mm rear 7mm front. The Boxster which was done 3 years ago has 15mm rear & 14mm front. all are H&R. I have had good luck with them.
Two questions for cdodkin --
1) So you only put 15mm spacers on the front? None on the rear?
2) Where can I buy the H&R spacers and extended lug bolts? Can you refer me to who you bought yours from?
Thanks.
Yep, 15mm front only - the backs were spaced nicely already.
I purchased both the spacers and 60mm bolts from Automotion.

I went with the 15mm DR spacer kit Part Number: 909572
And 10 x 60mm bolt Part Number: 910262
cdodkin - Nice job thanks for sharing the pics!
The next time you have the wheels off, paint the calipers and the "top hats."
Here are the threads I started after doing each of these:

Aw come on! The Pepper wasn't doing it for me. It wasn't exactly the best tow vehicle and with the baby coming soon we decided to get something that would tow with ease AND actually feel like we are getting our 70K worth when driving. In the Caddy you get that as it wraps you in luxury but the Pepper was full of plastic and NO luxury. I have never been a fan of Escalade's but the all new re-design is fanastic.
Maybe the 22" chrome wheels are a bit excessive but Yo! that's how I roll!
Dell, I totally understand. You tried Pepper, so I guess you also wanted to try "salt." Yeah, I know, it IS a bit of a stretch, but I have had only one cup o' Joe so far this morning.
i'm sure i won't win the popularity contest here ... but fellas, spacers are nothing to post pics up about and brag about esp when you're running stock wheels on stock suspension. now if you decide to lower on stock wheels, then maybe yea it does make it look much better, but still you're running on stock wheels (Zzzz).
-as you can see in the red c4s, if you're not lowered somewhat less than conservatively, it's going to look whack... jeep style. you can see that the stock wheels jut out at what looks to me stock height (check the gap)
-who cares if porsche runs them... runs them on which 911 out of the factory? so you're going to then refer to their race cars. there are a lot of things about their race cars that have nothing to do w/ your street 911.
-if you guys are using spacers with aftermarket wheels... ferdinand help u. that means u bought ill-fitting wheels in the first place. proper fitment wheels have no need for spacers to make it look flush to the fender.
got to love the 15mm in front and back....I did it and it makes the P look lower, wider, meaner, faster with more horsepower......you know what I mean....it looks a lot better! I think ;O
Could you help a brother out and post a driver side picture showing the space between the tire and the fender liner (where the fans push out the hot air) with the wheel turned all the way to the right. I put 15mm on my lowered c4s and the space is like a 1/4. Made me pull off until further info obtained. I was afraid it would make contact some how. I have 18x8s in the front.
