Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Apparently Porsche changed the mounting points for the shift cables on the tranny at some point. My '99 has clip type mounting and the rebuilt unit I was shipped by gbox has ball style. I'm pretty annoyed they didn't verify they were shipping me the correct unit, but at this case I just have to fix the problem. I can get a new set of cables, but the question is, is the mounting point at the shifter the same? Was that changed too?

POST 2Original post

Typical from those guys. I think just changing the cables will solve the problem for you. But even their former salesman doesn't know exactly what is needed (he's the guy in post #7). https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ifference.html

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The guy there said I need a new cable. I'm just not sure how much I trust them to be completely honest at this point.
